Hi all - I'm new to Orks and won an auction for some scorchers.  I now have 15 of them.  Problem is, I'm not sure how to best use them.  Should I spread them out among my other formations or should I make a scorcher unit?  Maybe to use in conjunction with a stormboyz formation?

Thanks!

A Kult of Speed made up of Skorchaz is a *very* deadly formation, all on its own.  Point-for-point, they've got the best firefight capability of any Ork unit.  Two Normal Kults of Speed, or one Big Kult of Speed will give your opponents Orky nightmares for a long time.

I wouldn't advise diluting that power, perhaps add some Buggies or Bikes to soak up hits.

Being the recipient of a landa with stormboyz and scorchas I can say that they are quite nasty when used in conjunction with other units.

"Page Not Found" on that link, daemonkin.

Dropping them in a Landa would be very nasty...

I'm afraid I enjoyed every minute too.
I use them as FF specialists in a CC fight, great back-up for 6 stormies or 6 bikes, though short ranged they are very nasty en-mass too, I love them.

Thanks everyone!  I'll try a KoS with them and see how that works.  I was a little worried about their short range, that's why I was thinking of splitting them up.  But it seems like they should work well as a concentrated group, as long as they are properly supported.  Time to light some fires! :)

I stick one bugger into a skorcha formation to 'stretch' the range of their shots. But yes they are wonderful. Surprised you got any, Tim must have stopped buying them.

That's our TRC. :)

In the past I've used big formations of skorchas as assault and support formations. TRC adds a good point a single buggy gives a further option to place a BM on a formation further away.

And yes, I now have more than enough skorchas so don't need to buy any more.
