Hi

Just cruised in to check out the Feral Ork army lists. But links here:
viewtopic.php?f=83&t=12425
leads to shady sites.
But looking at the links it linked to Swordwind pdf on the Specialist Games long defunct website.

Questions:

1. Is the Swordwind the latest army list for Feral Orks? No NetEA changes or updates?

2. Can an admin pls. remove those links?

3. The FW Epic Gargantuan Squiggoth was that never added to the Feral Ork list?

4. Did anyone plat(test) the Feral Orks? Can they compete or they only fun-WAAAAGGGGHH?

Cheers
D.

Latest NetEA lists are here: http://www.tp.net-armageddon.org/

The Orkeosaurus is effectively the gargantuan Squiggoth.

Ferals are a solid, albeit slowish, army.

Dave's covered this.

The Ferals are a solid list that can be hard to beat. However as a player they can feel frustratingly slow at times. Saying that I love my Ferals.

Old thread, I know... But I've been looking at this list. After all, who don't like some green skinned feral lunatics? But honestly, looking at it from a purely mathhammer point-of-view, I'm not entirely sure how to make it work.

It does seem slow. And worse, it's almost entirely lacking in solid long ranged firepower, so there's little opportunity to pile on those blast markers as I close with the enemy. So all I can imagine doing is to go for as many boyz as I can realistically get together and just run them across the table as fast as possible, soaking up casualties on the go and hoping I won't have too many blast markers when I get into close combat.

And heaven help me if I run into super heavies or titans...

But surely, there's more to this list than just that?

Lots of boyz and lots of formations. Double turn 1, then double and engage turn 2, screening with your Trappas. That's pretty much how all the games I've played against them have gone. The lack of long range firepower hasn't hurt them too much from what I've seen, so long as you've got plenty of assaults teed up at the start of 2.

Wyrdboyz effectively shut down aircraft formations. Even if you don't hit you should be laying BMs on approach and disengage, making for a 4+ activation next turn.

The Junkas are there for grabbing objectives, don't assault with them but use warbands and Boarboyz instead.

Thanks. :-)

Yeah, I was thinking something like that. I must admit though, that I've always felt a bit more comfortable with using the big gunz to soften up the target a bit before going into combat.
