I talked with Tiny-Tim and he was willing to hand the Gargant list over to me so I can get the six AC batreps that the list needs for approval. To that end, I went through the reports that we have to come up with a plan, and here we are...

We have 14 reports that I was able to find on this site that stretch from version 3.2 to 3.3.2. Given that the changes in 3.5.1 (https://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd ... 83&t=29084) are pretty light and nerfing, I used 3.5.1 as the baseline for the list below as we still should be able to use the batreps for approval.

I couldn't find any reports with Tim's version (https://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd ... 83&t=33848) but I have incorporated a few of its ideas. Such as:

  • Dropping the 1+ requirement on the Great/Mega
  • Allowing the customization of Supa-Stompa with the less potent weapons
  • Adding the Ultra-Lobba, Snappa and Oddboyz
  • D3'ing the DC kustom upgrade

I thought they were tame enough and allowed for some more options in the builds so ported them over. Additionally, I added the Big Gun or Skorcha Head, allowed the Great to swap its Big Gunz for Skorchas, renamed a few things, and re-armed the Mega to make it WYSIWYG.

My plan at this point is to get games in over the course of the year (I have two already that I need to post) and get it approved in Q4 of this year. While only the 6 AC reports are needed at this point, please feel free to let me know your findings so we can get it as balanced as we can.

Nice work Dave, good to see this one getting some love again. Will keep an eye out on this one, and try to get a playtest game in too.

Cheers
Reedar

Ben and I got in a game with this list vs Biel-Tan today.

I took a Great Gargant, 2 Gargants and a Big Stompa Mob... It was not a great list. It definitely destroyed everything it Engaged and then lost 2-0.

I the future I think replacing one Gargant with 2 Supa-stompas is the way to go, and the stompa mob wasn't great.

We didn't think to and the game was over fast.

Next time I'll put together a better list and do a proper report.

Reports and feedback at this point. I have a few more I need to post, my plan was to test until November and then put it up for a vote.

I just went through and posted my batrep backlog for the Gargants. At this point I have the 18 reports together, I'll be putting together a post for the ERC vote this coming week. If anyone has any outstanding thoughts/playtests now would be the time to post.

OK, list posted for a vote. I put it forward along with these changes:

  • change Kan Mob core units to 8 Killa Kans and costs to 200/350/500
  • move Krooz Missiles to Gargant Weapons
  • add Loadz o' Guns to Supa-Stompa Weapons for +25 points
  • reduce Big Gun or Skorcha Head to free

Code:
Loadz o' Guns
2–4× Big Gun    45cm   AP5+/AT5+
0–1× Skorcha    15cm   AP4+, IC
and   (15cm)  Small Arms, EA(+1), IC
0–1× Flak Gun   30cm   2× AP6+/AT6+/AA6+
Notes: Armed with four Big Guns, one of which may be replaced with a Skorcha and another of which may be replaced with a Flak Gun.

All of those changes look good to me, thanks for all of your work on this list, Dave.

hey just looking a the upgrades and its kind of unclear if you can only take 1 of each or multiples. As a specific example, Supa Stompa Mob, can i take unlimited stompas for 50pts each or just 1 extra? im guessing multiples are ok but its not stated anywhere.

It is, it's in the Upgrades paragraph on the first page:

Quote:
You may include any number of upgrades in a formation unless it is specifically noted otherwise

The votes are in and we are approved. I'll see about getting it into the TP in January.
