It was supposed to, I'll get on it today. The list in this thread is the netEA approved list

Where is the PDF with the new list? And how come it's the old list that's in the 2014 Compendium? I noticed that this new list is in the Armyforge army builder but I can't seem to find the actual list anywhere else...

With the Factions rule deleted in its entirety, other rules or restrictions that refer to a formation's faction are redundant and wouldn't make sense to someone approaching the list for the first time.

I.e. 6.11.3 "The summoning formation’s faction dictates what types of daemons may be summoned (see below)."; the Cult Marines upgrade and the Champion of Chaos character.

If it was only the rule regarding the Initiative bonus that needed removing, maybe re-introduce it with just the original first two sentences, i.e. "Each formation in an army of chaos belongs to a faction that owes allegiance to one of the gods of chaos (Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh or Tzeentch), or to Chaos Undivided. You must decide which faction each formation in your army belongs to before the battle and note it down on your army list."

Thanks, Steve. Somehow I thought that was the same as the old one in the Compendium...

Hey Steve.

Are these changes to be implemented to the Lost & the Damned list as well, and do we have an army champ for that list I could go to for details?

Thanks.

Hi Steve!

I assume the answer to the above quoted question is yes. But I don't think you actually answered it. So I'd like to ask again.
(I'm thinking of which army will be my next project after tyranids. And the keeping or taking away of the faction rule for instance effects my list building)

Secondly is the demagogue to be considered sacrificeable like the marine chaos champion?

My experimental Lost and the Damned redux list contains the Daemon summoning changes.

'Course, it doesn't contain any traitor guard bits, so if you really want them as well, that won't help you.

Hi!

I am confused.

There's a threat with Chaos lists, which shows the approved Black Legion list from 2012.
then there's the army compendium with the current (??) list.

Is there also an experimental list? In the 2014 list Decimators are Elite. Is this as it should be?

cheers,

thanks!

quick question: when did the summoned daemons loose the "grot" rule (i.e. don't count for assault resolution)?
I think that's not good, I liked that rule :D

direct quote from pdf from the link Dave posted:

Quote:
Note that Daemons that are killed in an assault do count towards the
number of units killed by the enemy when working out modifiers for assault resolution.

to be found under "Secial Rule - Summoned Units"

As far as I remember daemon casualties have always counted towards combat resolution they just don't add BM's when killed.

Yeah they're just regular expendable, not like grots.
