Hi Guys, Am new to epic along with some other guys at our club, and something i have stumbled across at the weekend is bugging me. I managed to get hold of the GW orignial Chaos army list off another website, and have been using this for the first couple of games to get used to the rules. However, while surfing the other day i came across the Epic UK approved tournie list which is substantially different. I then came across the NetEA V3.1 list which is slightly different again. Which list should i be using?? More accurately, which list is in more common usage, so if i go to tournaments (possibly winter warmer) or meet other players we are on the same page so to speak? Also, while on the subject of Chaos, how do most people use Daemons? And what are the preferred marks to use? I've tried out plague bearers but they don't seem to give much extra in CC that CSMs have already. Their 3+ save was good as a meat shield, but this seemed a wasted use for daemons. I had originally shied away from Tzeench and slaanesh. Flamers seemed sub-par, but now looking at them their 2 x FF attacks looks quite tasty for supporting Termies or Havocs. With the attractiveness of noise marines adding demonettes makes sense, but im just not sure their first strike ability is worth it... What are peoples thoughts, am i barking up the wrong tree with some of my ideas? Steve S |

Re: the lists, if you're planning on going to Winter Warmer, use the UK list. Otherwise, it's up to you/your playgroup. There's no one correct list. GW's list is still "official", NetEA's and EUK's lists are attempts to balance it a little better. |

Latest netEA list is here - viewtopic.php?f=82&t=19001 Assuming you are in the UK most tournaments use the Epic UK lists - www.epic-uk.co.uk (Open Wars, Full Scale Assault, Botc, Into the Breach, Epic UK GT, Britcon, Stockport Stockade). For the Winter Warmer I believe any list is acceptable though check with man of kent The Epic UK+NetEA Black Legion lists are very similar - at the moment just the flyers+factions rule differ. |

Steve Under that link you still have the first post with two links - one of those being the list without the agreed changes. This does create a lot of confusion as I have found with players. Possible to fix this? |

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm based just outside of Bristol, UK. Hence the interest in Winter Warmer (although i've checked the date and I probably can't make it due to work, some others from club might though). Probably best if i start using the Epic UK list then if GW list is seen as imbalanced. Steve S |
