As the discussion thread can be hard to pick clear systems out of I thought it would be handy (for me) to have each persons ideas - when they have a clear idea - to be stuck separately.

Also of course you can edit them as they develop!

The discussion thread is here.

Note this is just an ideas holder, you should use the discussion thread for discussion.

It goes without saying that the current system could just stay.

Mine can currently be broken into the following

1) Lost and Damned and CSM's don't have to have the same methods of demon summoning. They could even vary between legions.

2) Undivided marines have to buy demon summoning as usual, but are restricted to undivided demons (maybe expand this list a bit then!). To get faction specific demons for that formation you must get cult marines (berserker's and so so forth), but these come with demon summoning for free. For example. My retinue of marines can either get demon summoning and 2d3 worth of undivided demons for 25 points, or get 4 cult marines for 150 points and summon faction specific demons, including greater demons.

Linked to this would be Demon Princes. You can get an undivided one, but to have a faction specific one you would have to get cult marines in the same formation.

3) Formations buy demons just for them (the with undivided/factions rule above). They can be summoned before any activation roll is made and arrive automatically, disappearing at the end of the turn.

If GD's are too powerful here they could be made to sacrifice a unit of cult marines to get 'em to appear (and with the below one more maybe every turn?).

A further sacrifice idea is for the demons to remain beyond one turn you must sacrifice a unit of infantry (for whatever reason) - but even then getting the demons turn one and keeping them could be too powerful/make demons cost to much. I'd prefer to see cheap and cheerful demons rather than pricey ones that are just another type of infantry.

I like that idea - I cannot say that all details - haven't checked them too closely yet - but the general design idea.

In addition, if 'hatred' rule is still wanted in BL list, it could be like this: 'cult marine formation gains -1 to its initiative rolls unless there is no rival cult formations within 30cm' (well it would be easier to say: get -1 if there is within 30cm... but then it would not be by JJs design idealogy)
