Okay...I know this isnt the BL section, but the LatD summon too, so it applies. My issue is, when summoning demons, how the @#$#@ can you ever get enough points to get a greater demon? I have used a champion in several formations in multiple games, yet have a) not been able to summon demons with the formations cuz they got squished, or b) Never got the 8 summoning points necessary. I was rolling 4d3 (2d3+champs 2d3) each time. I am just curious whether it is just my abysmal luck...or something is amiss. At any rate, I get extremely frustrated because I have yet to be able to use a 100 point greater demon in a game. All comments and criticisms welcome. ![]() ib |

My maths may be wrong here, but rolling 4 D3 the most statistically likely role should be an 8 as there are more ways of 4d3 making 8 than other numbers between 4-12. Cant for the life of me figure out how to prove that though. Stats was never my strong point ![]() |

I think I've taken the Champion and greater daemon 4 times and of those have 3 times managed to summon it - the other time the unit, chosen I think, was broken before they could activate. Perhaps you need new dice? I rarely take the Champion/Greater Daemon as I think the 200+ points necessary (icon, pact, champion, daemon) just Isn't worth the points. Possibly in big games 5k+ to combine with teleporting chosen as an anti-titan formation - but I'm not sure about Chosen either as the BL strategy is to low to give a high probability of winning initiative |

The chances of failing with 4d3 are ~40%. If you've failed more than twice in a row you're well into the single digits as far as % chance. If you plan to summon with L&D, the thing to do is take a formation with a Demagogue and an Altar. IIRC, with 4d3+2 the chances of failing drop to ~10%. The Altar also means that you will have 2 WEs in the formation - GD and Altar. Also, I thought the GD for the BL list had been dropped to 75 points because it's not possible to drop the chances of a failed summon below 40%. I know we discussed dropping the points at length and came to the conclusion that the L&D list did not warrant a drop in points because they could almost guarantee results. I don't know if PG decided against dropping the points or if the final few edits weren't included in the last vault submission. |

Hmmm....well. Maybe I will try that.. 75 pts per GD. Either that or give one of the other characters +2 and increase its point value. hmm. ib |
