Fair enough, wasn't sure if it was a typo as the LRs were listed as being able to transport them. Yes it is a big points sink, i wasn't planning on doing it, just noticed while reading.

Thanks for clarifying, sorry if it has been covered before.

hey frogbear - i'm going to rip off your demon engine assualt and support packs for the stygian list.

(well, add a few extra options too but generally based off your idea.) Is this something you're ok with?

Be wary then to take something away for each comparable thing that you add. The points do not give much 'wiggle' room in those units.

i was thinking of maybe three 'representative types' for each formation, with a limited ability to bind demons in for fearless and inv save.

so for assault pack, add a firefight 'skorcha' type unit, for the support pack add a AA arcane tech/obilterator type unit.

Noticed a small weapon name/effect inconsistency. World Eater Bikes are listed as having 'Khornate Chainaxes' weapon which in other units grant EA+1, but the bikes don't get +1EA. Should these just be 'Chainaxes' (like the berserkers) without the +1EA, or is the +1EA note missing?

Ah! They should be standard chaos bikers so no extra +1.

Good pick up!

Hello,

How viable do you believe foot slogging WEs are at this stage?

...but they have Rhinos, Slaughterfiends and Dreadclaws.....

I honestly think playing the list may highlight a few of the answers to questions that will come up.

Having 2-3 groups of 4x Rhinos packed with Berzerkers and Legionairres while being assaulted from the air by Hellblades is a very dire place to be. Give it a go.

I have been in recent discussions with Lord of the Milk who has highlighted his concerns for the list in different aspects. To summarise some of the concerns:

1. Naming conventions in the list possibly detracts rather than attracts players
2. Model availability (or lack of) for some of the more unique Khorne vehicles is a detractor rather than attactor
3. The list is one dimensional more placed for a drop army than a ground based force
4. It is less playable/competitive than a standard Black Legion list (due to lack of INF shooting)
5. Khorne assault/support engines do not appear to play as big a part in the list than they should.

I am open to discussing all of the above (wethere for change or justification) and may look to make some changes to bring the list more into line with a competitive list on more than one dimension (something that has always been a constant concern for me with this list).

My main outlook for the list in all respects however is the the AV and WE units do the shooting/support and the INF do the majority of the close combat. That is an ideal that I plan to stick to so please take note of this in all the discussions.

If people want INF shooting on a Khorne army, I would like to direct your attention to the Khorne Renegades list and any sub-set of that. Dobbsy is the sub-AC for that area and I would encourage people to support Dobbsy in that area. This list deals with the World Eaters as a Legion - they are not Khorbne renegades.

Also I support all of the Black Legion changes and will want to move the list more in line with those 'to be' changes. I especially support the summoning rules - something that has been on my 'wish list' for quite a few years now.

To start off the discussions I will open up discussions in the different areas starting with Base INF.

Thanks all.

Thank you !

As a possible fluffy upgrade and if I may, I would like to propose the name of the list be changed to World Eaters invasion force for the First Battle of Armaggeddon

This is the name of the game after all!

And consequently give daemons a little more prominence (more pacts), and allow several Bloodthirsters to be summoned.

The next are I will look at are the AV units. Thread to start later this week (or not tonight at least) and would most liley want to match some units from the LatD list starting with their Hellcannons.

While I can do a straight match for the Khorne Support Engine Warpcannons (Cannons of Khorne), I have to do some work on the Doom Blasters. In this case I would look for some point reductions which would/could mean stat reductions to bring them down to the 200 point costing in line with hellcannons.

Then there are the Daemon Assault Engines. Lord of the Milk would like to see Defilers removed however I am not too sure about this. If this was to be the case (although Slaughterfiends would stay - non negotiable at this point in time), the Daemon Engines would need to step up. So I will need to push the LatD AC to get a move on with these and see about reducing costs on these units. If support Engines (as above) come in at 200 points, we need something comparrable on the close support front.

I believe I also have a representative answer for the oddball inclusions of the Dreadnought and Slaughter Fiend.

I am unconvinced that Predators will ever make an appearance in a force and the same can probably be said for all the other marine vehicles (bar Rhinos). So I need a solution for all of these.

Discussion welcome as this is the one part of the list that I need to shine if a 'foot slogging' force is going to work for this list.

That is one idea. I would have to review the fluff again and see where the majority of units fit.
