Running out of time so just going to place these ones up. These should represent the last of the support items not including the transports that I will place on a future post.
Also to come are three more War Engines

Support (group 4)

Image

Kiishar: SUMMONABLE UNIT Hashvaht favours his sons with his incarnation through stone. The few who are favoured in such a way can call forth the Kiishar who rise forth from the very earth underneath the enemy to create havok and fear. Truelly is the Tyrant blessed who can call on Hashvaht through such a physical form.

Note: I am still working on how these guys come onto a battlefield. I have summoning there as the main option as it is an existent rule however I am thinking of making it 1D3+1 summoning dice only.

Doombane: Addition : A tracked vehicle used to provide the much needed air defence while also providing some supporting fire to the formation it is allotted to.

Ur Cannon: These monstrous War Engines create havoc and confusion to enemy lines. Sitting on the back line, they continue to fire shells of destruction onto an unsuspecting enemy who quickly realise that their chances of survival have quickly diminished.

I do not have time to do datafaxes for these guys so here are the stats for the transports:

Image

Vedaj / Zhatan: Typical transports for the Chaos Squat forces. These can be modelled on older plastic Rhinos and the older Gorgon models. Otherwise, plenty of opportunity to model your own.

Mole: Can be your stock standard Squat Mole or go with a burrowing mechanical worm. Once again plenty of opportunity to model your own.

Death Dealer: A throwback to the idea that they helped create the Daemon Engines that the Khornate forces used. Model your own or use the older models. Only the Obsidion guard have access to these transports however.

OK. Today has been a pretty full day of this so happy to be showing the last of the forces.

Here are the War Engines. No fancy back story or anything, just the datafaxes:

As for modelling alternatives, I found these beauties on the net that I want to copy when I start modelling the army:

Lord of Battle alternative

Kollossus Alternative - if someone would make this as a DC 8 war engine in 6mm, I would buy it!

Cheers all.

Interesting alternatives for the kollossus, the walker looks awesome but the tracked version is more in keeping with squat praetorian style super heavies and could lead to some really nice minis/conversions. Are you seeing the chaos squats as using mostly tracked, or mostly walkers or a mix from a fluff perspective?

For the Gladiator Transport what about something along the lines of a very heavily beefed up sikorsky skycrane (double width + armour plates) with transport 'cages' for gladiators held as cargo underneath?

Are the freebooterz still about?

For the orks, instead of having it directly from the ork list ( orks+nobz+grots) it might be easier just to abstract it to all ork boyz/malorks. The grots might have been pressed into service elsewhere as riggers on the war engines and the command stand for the formation could be modelled as nobz but otherwise treated the same. A few nobz could also be used on the large mutant stands.

Is there any fluff behind the Rehzahk or is it just there to fill a warhound hole?

Also using 1620px long images is nasty for those of us on smaller monitors ???

I much prefer that tracked train version, but I have to work with what I have. I would rather not detail what minis should be used, as the list should encourage those few people that may consider it, to model up their ideas. That is what kick-started me to tackle the Chaos Squats, the freedom to create. I would rather just give a set of stats and let people's imaginations go from there - but the realist in me tells me that people need a visual representation of the stats - hence the datafaxes.

It does look pretty thin and fragile however. In reality, my own will probably not look anything like a Chinook. It may actually look like Thunderbird 2 with two big propellers :D

No took them out at the last update to fill in the Malorcs. :-\

I did play around with this idea. I came back to the reasoning why I took out the Khorne Berserkers - because I wanted to represent the Chaos Squats as an army and not just a warband. The initial orks were Freebooterz with a pirate ship and all! (thanks Morgan Vening), and then I had the standard Orks and thought about changing them up a bit. In the end I stuck with the Malorcs in their current incarnation. It will be interesting to see where development goes when/if people join in to contribute to the force

Sorry. Will note this for next time

In any event, the Chaos Squats V1.0 will be released tomorrow. Stay tuned :)

Agreed, just through it might help to unify the feel of the totally new units if there were some broad fluff guidelines :)

I find the aesthetic of the Sentinels really doesn't fit with the rest of the list. They're too smooth and organic.

EDIT:

The rest of it, of course, is damn cool. Makes me want to play Chaos Squats.

Here is another pic of the Sentinels. Does this help to win you over?

Can't you just imagine some Chaos Squat pilots inside those eggshells?

Like the look of the big mechanical War Engine tunneler (mole).

I'm really liking the look of the list and I've already got some ideas in my head.
Thanks for taking the time to bring this list to life mate.

Nice one Onyx. If you do something with modelling or painting of minis, I have something special to look forward to.

No doubt you are going to make use of that big mechanical worm! :D

Actually, I can. I'll be more specific - they don't fit with the rest of the vehicles, which tend toward blocky and technical looking. The infantry can work with either. Both together, OTOH, seems a little off.

I'm sure I'll survive. :)
