what other sources are there?

- Forgeworld - Only sells (and describes in the IA books) Warhounds with weapons available to Imperial Titans, including Warhounds that fell to Chaos in the heresy and participated in the attacks against the Emperor's palace (Legio Vulcanum). Only has rules for the same weapons as the imperial Warhounds.

- Games Workshop Warhammer 40,000 / Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse - Only describes Warhounds which carry Imperial type weapons. Only has rules for the same weapons as the imperial Warhounds.

- Black Library - Multiple books/graphic compendiums etc. only describes Warhounds which carry Imperial type weapons, plus a Warhound weapon called the Bident (CCW) appears in the novel Titanicus.

=====

There are no rules for 'Feral' configuration Warhounds in Warhammer 40,000.
There is no reference for 'Feral' configuration Warhounds anywhere in a GW-published material other than the Black Legion army list for Epic.

With all the above in mind, there is no reason to assume that 'Feral' configuration Warhounds are in the standard configuration for the Chaos Titan Legions.

For the Titans that accompanied the Black Legion on Abbadon's thirteenth black crusade against the planet of Cadia, perhaps so, but not for Chaos Warhounds elsewhere.

=====

With all the above info, the only conclusion you can draw is that most Chaos Warhounds carry the same weapons as their loyalist counterparts, and it is very much the exception to carry a different weapon system.

Heck, I'd be willing to lay down money that noone in the GW Studio bar Jervis knows what weapons a Feral configuration Warhound carries (actually I think it's pretty likely Jervis couldn't name them either), whilst every one of them will be able to name all four weapons that a Chaos Warhound is allowed to carry in Warhammer 40,000.

Hope it helped clear up my impression of things.

I edited my post above to add a little more detail.

Can you rotate the ref sheet 90 degrees and fit it on a single A4 page?

If you can read size "2" letters then it will fit on one single page.
Besides all reference sheets are in this layout so i will stick to it. I would out it in the same PDF as the armylist but i found no way to rotate just a single page in OpenOffice without rotating every page in the document.

@Man of kent: This is really great news  :D
As for Titans E&C has pretty much summed it all up. Personally i see the Titans in the BlackLegion armylist as Khorne devoted DaemonEngineTitans reardless what the fluff in the BlackLegionarmy list says about Tzeentch, Slaanesh and Nurgle Banelords, etc.

E&C summed it up really, there's no longer any fluff regarding the existance of the 'special weapons' of Khorne/Nurgle/Tzeentch/Slaanesh - I split my project appart to find some way of including the classic weaponry without creating a gigantic monster of a list - I personally think that if I do make a generic 'undivided' list, it wont get any additional toys in excess of the current Titan Legion.

Added all missing datashets to the list so you don`t have to look them up in the Black Legion and Lost and the Damned armylists.
But i will wait to upload it until i have Vraks 3 :)

Oh and should i stick with the Titans weapon loadout? They are basically the SM and IG Titans plus inspiring. I could give them weapons from the War Gryphons armylist.

Damn. I don't think I'd have to modify my Ravager conversion much to make the Doomburner and an Apocalypse Rocket Launcher interchangeable, and the Death Storms could easily pass for TLDs, so I could have used it for both a Black Legion army and Red Corsairs. Making a Death Storm interchangeable with a CCW would be significantly more difficult.

As long as it's pointed correctly, I've no objection to different weapon configurations.

I'm thinking about 625-650pts and it will loose Inspiring as the Chaos Reaver seems to have no Dirge Caster as the Chaos Warhound.

The AMTL points costs would tell us that such a Reaver would cost around the 625pt mark.

Hmm is this a "No!"?

Actually, from the point of view of making the best army list, it probably would be good to have a different weapons configuration from the standard Imperial one. Helps give the list a little more of its own flavour.

It's just a pain for me as a modeller, since that set-up would be slightly more awkward to model. Maybe I should just view this as an excuse to get myself another Titan model. :-D

I know but i'm not sure if the CC-Weapon is really suitable as a "free" weapon for the Reaver.

It's not so hot, honestly. :)

Especially with that kind of non-optimised weapon configuration.

You can never have too many! :))

Grabbing a Forgeworld Reaver Titan (Gatling Blaster, Volcano Cannon, Apocalypse Missile Launcher) and swapping the Volcano Cannon for a CCW of some sort would seem to be the easiest way to do it.
