I'm sorry, but when it comes to this faction rule, some of you haven't thought this through in my opinion.

In the original Chaos background from many years ago (i.e. Realms of Chaos and Lost and the Damned), Khorne and Slaanesh hated each other, as did Tzeentch and Nurgle.  This is currently reflected in the rules, so why extend it?  There is no background precedent to do so, and I agree with Hena that it basically forces players into playing Mono-God lists for no good reason whatsoever.

With the forum being down for a while the schedule for the Chaos lists has obviously been delayed. Its my intention that 3 weeks from today - the 2nd of May, I will examine all testing and feedback and produce new Black Legion and LatD versions.

These will be left up for a week to check for typos and then frozen, until the next review in summer 2011, and sent to the NetERC for the armybook project.

As of now long standing issues such as the Daemon prince, feral, titans etc will be addressed but there is no way large, far-reaching unit additions and changes such as the stalker can be included. I would be happy to include, and other items, but the lack of playtesting in the last few months makes this is impossible. Therefore everybody has 3 weeks to playtest if they want major changes implemented.

After the BL freeze attention will turn to a second wave of lists - as it stands that will be the four cult marine lists and the Red Corsairs. The only dormant list of those appears to be the Emperors Children - I'll provide a new version of this list in the next few weeks.

Steve. With this being the case, do you mind if I take a crack at the list?

It is one of the considerations for the nemesis to the World Eaters

Hmm. I was thinking about converting up one or two more of those. Guess now I won't bother!

Playtest them hard during the next couple of weeks and they may be shown to be workable.

Curtainly, the only data supplied shows that the addition of a highly mobile AA asset radically changes the army's composition.

Chroma

Is this in the way of the current INF AA not being taken, or is the whole list reorganised in a way to take more advantage of a vehicle with AA moving at a greater speed than 15cm (as in more vehicles in the list)?

Is this the concern, or that they will start to play a little too like other armies?

Just trying to understand.

From my testing the Stalker gives a substantial boost for the list as the ability to have mechanised retinues with in-built AA makes it far easier to use them as powerful assault formations.

Have you tried upping the cost of the Stalker? (To compensate for their increased self-reliance)

I still haven't managed to get in a pure BL test game, have been phenomenally busy the last few months one way or another.

I've played a couple of Red Corsair games recently which test most of the changes, but not the Stalker.

Oh dear, so we are stuck with Obliterators as the sole source of ground AA again?
:(

Well you all are unless you all run 2-3 games with Stalkers in the next week... if more than 10 people do that.. that 30+ battle reports... more than Tyranids have.

I do not see why a price rise cannot be considered, if the reports to date have indicated an increase in power of the BL.

It just seems like a self-fulfilling prophesy, if the Stalker is too powerful then you reduce its power or increase its points cost, you don't just say "Well it's too powerful so it's not being used", IMHO you try a different approach rather than just giving up.

Well do some playtesting then - in 2+ years since LordI invented the stalker there have been 2 reported tests of it. Since I have been AC I have tested it about 7-8 times and hello_dave has tested it. Thats the sum total.
