Definitely go with 'normal' criticals for the Brass Scorpion.

Not something I've particularily found or heard - yes it is brutal in CC but in a very low SR army like LatD this isn't really a problem.

Not something I've particularily found or heard - yes it is brutal in CC but in a very low SR army like LatD this isn't really a problem.


It is if you have enough of them / enough formations in threatening positions to override the enemy's SR advantage in attempting to escape. :)

It may well be worth more points for a SR4 army like the Red Corsairs.

In around 1-2 weeks i will be back at my own computer and have acsess to the files.

Changes will be theuodates Brass scorpion,addition of the Greater Silver Tower and the Subjugator. I`m thinking about adding a Defiler support-formation too.

Consider adding Zombocom's 'Servants of Slaughter' Defiler formation... four Defilers, with the option to add a Brass Scorpion?

You end up with a lot of snippy looking crabs and scorpions, it looks great (I've converted two of my Otterfilers into a Brass Scorpion).

This could be an idea. I could remove the Assault Company and add the 4 god specific daemon war-engines in appropiate formations as upgrades.
Defilers = Brass Scorpion
Plaguereaper = Armoured Company
But then where could the Greater Silver Tower and Subjugator go?

@E&C Look at posting #201. Its the Apocalypse SIlver Tower of Tzeentch translated to Epic. Obvioulsly the stats are different to the LatD Silver Tower so it isn`t a Silver Tower, it`s a Greater Silver Tower :)

How do the Silver Towers' Apocalypse weapons compare with the L&TD versions?

Same question with Subjugators.

The Apocalypse Beam of Power is a 48" Strength D weapon while the Bolts of Change are D6 24" Krak-Missle shots with Ap1.

The Apocalypse Subjugator has no Titan-CC-Weapon (but is a Strength 10 Gargantuan Creature for CC purposes), a shorter range but more numerous weapons. The LatD Subjugator has TK-CC-Weapons and two Battlecannons while the Apocalypse Subjugator has the equivalent of two 45cm Battlecannons plus a twin Blastmaster and some flametemplate(Hellstorm) weapon.

Care to post your proposed stats and the L&TD stats alongside each other?



BTW I played a Corsairs game the other day with the Brass Scorpion using Zombocom's stats, at 150pts as an upgrade to a formation of 4 Defilers.

It felt like they weren't worth their points, but on the other hand Zombo threw half his army at them in an attempt to eradicate them over two turns, and I ended up winning the game 3-0.

Update to V3.10 (see first posting):

Changes:
- tweaked some stats in accordance to this site: http://www.geocities.com/eoinwhelan/chaosAA.htm (but left Invulnerable Save off from Obliterators).
- Consequence fro above is that i added stats for Obliterators, Defilers and Desecrators.
- dropped points of the Chaos Hunter from 75 to 50pts
- dropped points of Obliterators fromm 100 to 85pts
- changed stats of the Brass Scorpion
- added Greater Silver Tower and Subjugator with their stats
- added Daemon Engine Summoning formation
- added Desecrator upgrade
- added Daemon War Engine upgrade

The Defiler has a range 47cm battlecannon
The Defiler has a range 41cm heavy flamer



Brass Scorpion:

We used RA5+ the other day, and CC3+... and it was barely worth 150pts, certainly not 200.

Get rid of the 'automatic critical hit' on the Brass Scorpion.

Good catch. On the critical too. I have corrected the file. See first posting.

So you see the Brass Scorpion as only twice as good as a Defiler?
