This is the reason that Chaos Hunters stay at 75pts for now until Obilterators will loose AA.

That will be six months yet.

I'm going to (continue) playtesting the Chaos Hunter at 50pts, it is worth no more than that.

Well i'm not planning any new/radical changes for this list yet so i can wait 6 month :D

And another argument fotr the high price:
Hunters fire Hunter-Killer missile which seem to be the same as the vehicle upgrade of the same name. Hunter-kille rmissiles areguided missiles. A technology Chaos would have trouble to duplicate. So Hunters remain rare and expensive to maintain.

But no one is stopping you from playtesting them at 50pts :D

Seems ok.
But still the status of the Obliterators as AA or non-AA is open.

Why are the titans all Inspiring?

In Warhammer 40,000, Chaos Titans are the same as loyalist Titans, except that they have a Daemonic aura of about 12" radius that hurts enemy's leadership (IIRC, it's been a while since I read their rules)... the closest analogue turned out to be Inspiring, which they do pay for.

may i ask why i obliterators are 25pts more expensive

Because the Black Legion Obliterators are broken.

65pt Terminator upgrade, or 75pt Obliterator upgrade?

No contest, formations get upgraded with Obliterators every time, especially as extra CC ability can be summoned in the form of Daemons if nessesary.

Notably since EpicUK went for 75pt Land Raiders for the loyalists, that leaves the traitor ones looking overpriced...

...125pts for two Land Raiders?

What E&C said :D

And personally i see no reason why Obliterators should have AA. In fluff they aren't known for shooting down aircrafts.

On Land Raiders: Doesn't the Traitors pay for the possibility to have greater numbers than their loyalist counterpart? Do Chaos Land Raiders underperform at 75pts?

And personally I see no reason why Obliterators should have AA. In fluff they aren't known for shooting down aircrafts.

One of their defining features is the ability to produce whatever weapon is required for the task in hand. That could easily include surface-to-air missile launchers or flak cannons.

Which doesn't mean they have to have AA shots, but it isn't wholly inappropriate for them to either.

I agree, but on the other hand 3x AA 5+, RA4+, Fearless, Teleport, Ivulnerable Save, FF2+... etc. is incredibly powerful.

Hi all.

I'll be testing Obliterators as LV (adding walker to their long list of special abilities, but leaving everything else alone, at least for now) in the coming weeks. As it stands the thing my opponents dislike most about them is their ability to hide in Retinues, at least this would open them up to AT fire and imho go some way to bringing them back down to being fair value. To me you could argue similar about (for example) Hydras in Leman Russ companies, but I do think that the Oblits are somewhat under-costed currently and something needs to be done.

I quite like the idea that they add AA in a different way to most armies, it's a pretty stark choice to either have a mobile formation or one that packs (pretty nasty) Anti-aircraft, but is slow.

Obliterators don't have and can't morph AA-mounts, so they are pretty crap at shooting down aircrafts.

Besides: How about adding a Tzeentch and Slaanesh specific Daemion Engine? The Red Corsairs already have acsess to a Khorne and Nurgle one so it wouldn't be to far off to add the other two missing Chaos Gods.

I'm thinking about the Silvertower of Tzeentch and the Subjugator Titan. But i would re-create their stats from the Wh40k Apocalypse stats. So they might differ from the stats shown in the LatD army list.

Zombocom mentioned to me that he thinks your Brass Scorpion stats are off-base.
