Certainly drop the points if and when you lose fearless.

What would the reduction in cost most likely be? I am considering 15 points per vehicle type.

I did look at them Blacklegion but they didn't serve much more purpose in the list than a desecrator or destroyer and the single unit transport option wasn't terribly useful if you have to add 8 of them to carry a retinue. At around 50 points each that's a tad too expensive in my view. They are a neat idea though, just not easy to implement.

On a separate note, what do people think about the Khorne Legionnaires being reduced to a simple 4 unit formation? I originally went for 4-8 units but thinking more on it perhaps it should reflect the Slaanessh model more??

I've also done a world eaters list myself. I've played with it around 15 games so far and am very pleased with it. I will post it later if you like.

Am I the only one that thinks that berzerkers should be CC3+ and extra attacks(+1)?

Defnitely remove fearless from all but the die hard assault troops; i took a look at the Dark Angels and also the Slaneeshi list that was posted recently and don't think that shed loads of Fearless unit's makes for a good game.

Interesting list. Money wise it looks very expensive. In order to get 1 World Eaters Retinue it would cost nearly $90usd. Do you think it's possible to cut the retinue down from 8 stands to 6 or even 4?

Baring that I can see a lot of people including more Daemon formations than WE Retinues simply to fill up points and to include more support formations.

Loosening the 0-1 limit per WE Retinue on the armored companies would also go a long way to helping people field more points.

I realize that it's difficult, maybe even unrealistic, to write up a list based on model availability, but if you could keep it in mind I think it would help to make it a more successful and popular army to play.

Anything's possible Malakai. I have considered 4 bases per formation. I decided 8 to begin with to try it out. Perhaps 4 could be an option which will help increase formation numbers to a degree... Try them as 8 for now though to see how they play as that's more important to the list than the cost of minis.

I only base my zerkers 4 minis to a base to cut down on numbers required (32 as opposed to 40) - plus you get a nice 8 per "2-base-squad" then ;) Also they don't have to be the new berserker figures to represent Beserkers - I would imagine a large number of chaos players have the old type CSMs as their zerkers. Don't forget this isn't the final list so the old minis would do as play testers. Heck, I've seen some who use standard SMs as khorne troops.
Thanks for bringing up the cost element though, as I hadn't considered it.  :agree:

I suppose that same could be done here than what I suggested to Nurgle. Have half of the formation being Khornate Space Marines, which uses a stat line similar to Chaos Space Marine (though more marked for CC than others) and half being Berzerkers. This way you could cut down on the Fearless problem as well.

But isn't the World Eaters made up entirely of Berzerkers?

Who drives the tanks then?  You can't trust that to those road-raging Bezerkers!

As far as I know, World Eaters are made up by Berzerkers only. The tanks must be driven by servitors (like hellblades and such).

Fearless is ok but it's not that good. A fearless unit can still be broken or am I mistaken?

A fearless unit *can* be broken... but it doesn't have to "withdraw" when it becomes broken, that is, it doesn't have to end its withdrawal movement more than 15cm from the enemy, nor can it be damaged by Blast markers nor destroyed if it loses an assault.

This allows "large" formations of broken fearless units to do odd things like surround objectives to preven the enemy from getting within 15cm of them, with little fear of retribution; if the fearless units have scout it becomes even more of a problem, as they can deny large swaths of the battlefield from the enemy and the enemy has to kill every stand with direct attacks.

That's the base problem of allowing large, fearless formations.
