The Desecrator version on the Death Guard list already does not have the 1BP, and instead has a AA value.

This is a fan created variant though is it not?

If I'm not mistaken, the rumors are also that the 40K CSM Codex removes the indirect fire option from the Defiler battlecannon in order to reinforce its direct-support/charge-into-combat background.

*Checks his Chaos Codex*

Yep, it's just a normal Battlecannon now.

It is faster however (Fleet) and is better in close combat.

Ehm....strange. I guess they wouldn't want to be infiltrated by Epic fans because they fear they would make Epic a main system again :D

OK, so what do we do, remove the BP, up the speed to 30cm, and beef up the CC stat. Sounds easy to me..

You really don't want a 30cm moving unit with Infiltrate.

Keep them at 15cm and give them infiltrate?

I'm just throwing out ideas right now.  :;):

ok, here's my vote:

15cm - armour 4+, CC 3+, FF 3+

Rest is the same, but add infiltrate.

Points - Maybe keep the same?

Yes keeping 15cm is handy for garrisoning, with infiltrate it gets the important boost I think.

AV, move 15cm, save 4+, CC 4+, FF 4+
Battle Cannon 75cm AP4+/AT4+
Twin Lascannon 45cm AT4+
Heavy Flamer 15cm AP4+ Ignore Cover and (15cm) Small Arms, Ignore Cover
Battle Claws (base) Assault Weapon Extra Attacks(+2), Macro Weapon
Notes: Fearless. Invulnerable Save. Walker. Infiltrate.

75 points
Or drop CC to 5+ and have points 50-65

Comparison unit has to be Dreadnought in the list - so how does it compare?

I have 5 defilers (picture can be found at Epicomp Battleforce) and I have been using them as either Traitor Flak or Nurgle Desecrators, but I could give them a try with those TRC:s proposals.

How should you use them? Give 2-3 to garrisoning Retinue plus 1-2 Dreds (to get cover for everybody) with obli? Then
