Sure there is dude. Happy to talk about and give reasons why the playtest.

Just realise that it is a playtest to try out areas that others may not have. That's all.

Without trying to find a happy medium, the list will never be played by others as it will retain a 'stigma' as not fun to play with/against.

Hi All

I have uploaded the latest v0.9.1 update for the World Eaters list that incorporates the removal of the Fearless rule for the main World Eater formations. The link has been included on the front page, and is included here for ease:

Here is the change log for the v0.9.1 update:

- Removed Fearless from World Eater Berserkers, Bikers, Chosen & Terminator datafaxes
- Added Stubborn to World Eater Berserkers, Bikers, Chosen & Terminators datafaxes
- Removed World Eater Initiate retinue from the army list.
- Removed ‘Commander’ ability from Skull Lord
- Added ‘Fearless’ ability to Skull Lord
- Added Stubborn to Keeper of Skulls and Keeper of Chains
- Incorporated -1 CC to the World Eater Berserkers, Bikers, Chosen & Terminator datafaxes
- Added Extra Attack +1 to each of the World Eater Berserkers, Bikers, Chosen & Terminator datafaxes
- Removed Skull Lord from World Eater Berserkers, Bikers, & Chosen formations
- Reduced the World Eater Berserkers, Bikers, & Chosen formations by 50 points
- Added Skull Lord as an upgrade option
- Added ‘Ignore Cover’ to Cannon of Khorne Warp Cannon
- Renamed ‘Daemonic Assault Engines’ to ‘Daemonic Engines’
- Removed Cannons of Khorne as a separate support option
- Removed Doom Blasters as a separate support option
- Added Cannons of Khorne and Doom Blasters to Daemonic Engines selection
- Updated the iniative rules to the following: “Formations with Fearless units present have an initiative rating of 1+. All other formations in a
World Eaters army have an initiative rating of 2+.â€Â

1st game played with the World Eaters v0.9.1 list against the Space marines and reported below in the v0.9.1 playtests

With the removal of Fearless, we have been concentrating on the effect of reducing the World Eater Marines CC to 3+ with a normal EA+1. Also we are taking note of what effect Stubborn has with the force.

Total Playtests: 8 Games

Version 0.9.1 Playtests - 1 Game
- vs Space Marines - as an opponent vs Blish


Version 0.9 Playtests - 3 Games

World Eaters Post Skalathrax - 3 Games
- vs Feral Orks - as a player vs Blish
- vs Orks - as a player vs Blish

So are your characters units unto themselves? Otherwise there's no need to add this to chracters as they will assume whatever special rule is attached to its parent unit ;)

The next playtest will be loaded up tomorrow.

We have to re-write the initiative rule as we need to base it on characters and units rather than the 'Fearless' ability. That will be in process throughout these 3 playtests, then we have some more changes to consider.

There will be 1 more playtest with V0.9.1 and then we will look at the changes proposed.

Further squads to be added or reviewed:

- Greater Brass Scorpion addition
- World Eater Chosen review
- Slaughterfiend review/unit additions
- Defiler vs Slaughterfiend comparrisons (possible addition)
- Blood Slaughterer review/unit additions

As for units, I think we are almost there for this list.

Then it is just working out
1. Blood Rage rule and
2. Possible changes to replace Fearless

Then we have to make the cost and troop comparrisons to other lists.

All fun and games in the house of the Blood Lord   :)

For any of those that are following this development thread, sorry for having been so quiet this past week. It appears that the playgroup may have had a little 'burn-out' from the amount of games we have been having every week.

I am hoping to get the last 0.9.1 playtest in within the week. Then we shall be progressing with a few additions and changes for the 0.9.2 round of playtests.

That would be cool. That would be a tough battle for the World Eaters to win   :)

I have been following your discussions on the Tau, and I see that there is a real 'logger-head' discussion going on there. What rules would you be using for the Tau?

Also I have the bub to drop any day now (I know you know what that is like), as well as job interviews every day for the rest of this week. What days and times are good for you, and what location?

Another diea for Bloodrage for all who doesn`t want foced moves etc pp:

World Eaters can have an special Order called All Aout Assault.
In an All Out Assault the units run/drive at maximum speed at their opponents eshewing cover toal not even stopping to fire their weapons intend to wreak carnage in hand to hand combat.
Units who take n All Out Assault order double their moving values but any FF-attacks of the target formation gains First-strike for the first round of the assault because they see the assaulters coming which don't even use the small cover which is supposed to cover the whole battlefield but doesn't give a to-hit modifier or cover save.

So there are some options we can discuss how World Eaters can use All Out Assault
1) Voluntary. Just declare an All Out Assault and roll Initiative.
2) Involuntary.
2a) By beating a certain number (rolling a natural 6 or so on the Initiative test) a declared Assault automatically becoms an All Out Assault.
2b) By beating a certain number (rolling a natural 6 or so on the Initiative test) a declared Assault can be choosen to be an All Out Assault.

Thoughts?

Sorry BL. Somehow I missed your reply. I am not used to getting replies on this list   :;):

It is an interesting proposal. I wonder what people would think of the ability of infiltrator (albeit reduced - without the assassin quality) with such a drawback.

Personally I would like to try it and I just may. It could potentially mean that the whole army could effectively use a double move for a charge however. It does fit in with the theme however...

Interested in others thoughts on such a proposal. I will also talk about it with Morgan today to get his input.

Edit: First issue I see are Bike squads with a double charge (70cm!!). I am impressed, however I do not think the opponent would be  :)
