Doom Blasters a bit off their cost, lose 1 BP, and get IF. They would be no better than Whirlwinds without ATSKNF. This would facilitate prepping for assaults a lot, which is one of the weaknesses of the list. Alternatively, the 2 BP could be kept but with slow firing?

Currently they allow retinues to place BMS, but the upgrade is too costly, thereby my proposition to include vindies. Alternatively, the Armor formation could always be included, and as the models are very readily available and the formation is both balanced and useful.

Yeah I was looking at Doom Blasters dropping to 1 BP and possibly gaining Disrupt. With only a 45cm range with no indirect and limited to a formation of 4, this could be enough. If there is the wild gnashing of teeth and hair being pulled out over how 'powerful this is', I could always keep their speed at 20cm thereby taking away their ability to Garrison.

As for Marine armour, well that is another problem which causes gnashing of teeth from me. :{[]

Apart from reducing costs, why do you think 45 cm range on the weponry is necessary?

Could we not introduce the SM vehicle formation to have ranged fire support?

Unique is not having IF on everything so you can sit back and shoot like every other Marine, Eldar and IG Force.

Unique is not panderring to every idea.

The skill of the Doom Blasters is getting them within range, within LOS and in sufficient numbers to shoot and make an impact. It may not be for everyone, but some people (like me) like the challenge.

I have no desire to create a daemonic whirlwind at this stage which is what the suggestion would create.

I don't understand what you have against daemonic whirlwinds?

The list suffers from a great difficulty to place BMs and deal with formations that retreat from assault range.

This formation would fill that niche nicely and fluffily.

Besides, DBs right now are a lowish save low range expensive small formation, just asking for trouble...

My opponents hate it when i block large areas of the table with doomblasters and cannons. Give it try. What you have to understand is that this is not a standard marine or chaos list.

It does struggle at times and i am working on the ground element, however i would rather not change a unit to do something that it never has done.

Has it changed since Apocalypse came out?

No. There is still the same Apocalypse datasheet downloadable from GWs site:
*looks it up* Hmm actually i can't find ANY of the Apocalypse datasheets anymore....

Anyway i put the sheet in this attachment. It's a Baneblade chassis with CC5+ and a 75cm 4BP weapon. It has NO Indirect Fire ability.
