Red Cordsairs don`t use the faction rule anyway. I didn`t heard an outcry of rage because of this yet :)

I don't think anyone noticed. which is pretty damning in itself.

In the Black Legion list it makes very little difference as it only applies to units sumoning Daemons or using cult units, which is usually 0-4 units in the army. I don't think summoning Bloodletters within 15cm of a unit containing Noise Marines is going to do any damage to game balance. I would say it is a superfluous rule and should be removed.

I have been playing Black Legion since the list was first published and this rule has had no impact on my army design or play style. Many armies don't mix factions and those that do can easily avoid being near each other.

LatD however have Daemon Engines to consider which makes things more complicated.

Ok, for this round of testing lets try the BLACK LEGION without the factions rule.

One issue is that there is really no point in Undivided then - any thoughts/solutions to that? New daemon? Restricting beasts to Unidivided? Something else?

You could always go back to

- No Khorne + Slaanesh

and

- No Nurgle + Tzeentch.

Undivided Daemons could be worse but more numerous?
2 units granted per summon point, but they'd have crapper stats.

How about
UNDIVIDED
Any formation which is desigbated as Chaos Undivided may summon lesser daemons from any faction, and in any combination. However all lesser daeons except daemonic beasts cost 2SP. Also the Champion of an undivided formation may be sacrificed to summon a Greater Daemon of any faction at the normal cost

That seems cool - Flexibility but at greater cost.

It could also let "daemonic beasts" be deleted and let proper Khorne Doggies return.

I like that approach
