Sustained is out definatley - but I really...really cannot bring myself to use the more classic Daemonengines in the list - I know they still have some official existance, but the forces of the Dark Mechanicus and Chaos Titans really just...its the Plague Towers, I can't take them seriously - personally I like to make a nice standpoint for my list,

I like the idea of taking the modernised concepts of the Dark Mechanicus and Hereteks (see Dark Heresy) and mixing them with the old classic wacky Daemontitans - in some ways what I enjoy is finding a point of reference with modern fluff and then making it wacky from there so...wacky...but still in part near to the Dark Mechanicus roots.

The Lord of Battles is fun and all, but I'd much rather use the Blood Slaughterer and the two Brass Scorpion Classes.

undivided, basic titan config activate same as chaos marines black legion 30 cm rule
khorne,    close combat/banelord/ravager/feral,  shortrange weapons
nurgle,    slow and heavy (no warhounds)
slaneesh,  fast light disrupt (warlord disrupt shortrange speed 20)

i also think tha daemon engines should have sommon pionts like daemons and a type of daemon pool even if it is for indpentent formations insead of formation add-on

but need to stay in say 15cm of summoning formation

Just off the top of my head, spitball fashion, one idea for list structure would be to mimic the old SM2 chaos structure.  GD's had to have a minimum number of followers.  Daemon-possessed titans could do that as well.

in my opinion .........but they are also deamon so they want to smash people on contact not miles away.

Not altogether true

A daemon trapped in a vehicle will want to cause the most amount of damage it can. If that happens to be with a Vulcan Mega Bolter, then so be it. If it wants to ground pound the enemy, then I agree, it will mutate itself to form a CC weapon or two.

So I agree in part, and think that a ranged, as well as a CC fit-out (yes, even for Khorne) is the best policy.

Khorne at the moment is a whole 'nother kettle of Fish, because I want his Legio's to share the wacky, but he's a rather mundane god

Bite your tongue!

He is a warrior that places battle prowess above all else.

Mundane indeed  *shakes head*

Just remember a Lord of Battles is a Bloodthirster trapped in a machine.

It is the height of binding a Daemon to a machine in that respect (not counting the Titan Legions)

You want to look at the Banelord datasheet for Wh40k Apocalypse found on GWs homepage. It has the same Crazed rule as the Chaos Dreadnought.
Its basically: At the beginning of the turn roll a D6.
One a 1 the Banelord can't move or assault but fires twice. One of these attacks is carried out normally by the Chaos player the other form a randomly selected player (even the opponent). Even units of the same side can be targeted.
On a 2-5 the Banelord acts as the player wishes.
Ona 6 the Banelord must move as fast as possible towards the enemy, it can't shoot but runs 1D6" in the shooting phase towards the enemy andmust assault the enemy in the assault phase.

Warrior or not, he's still mundane, non-magical, of all our Chaos God choices Khorne is the one who favours practicality over mutating things into wierd visages with flesh all over them.

The current Marshal of Khorne upgrade has a similar crazed rule anyway, if it fails to make an activation it has to attempt to assault the nearest un-engadged enemy formation - its just a matter of making this a whole list-wide rule rather than making it exclusive to favoured Titans.

Khorne sits on my drawing board at the moment awaiting me to work it into something for Frogbear (as I needs to do some heavy changes before I pull it out again - the Festering Death list is actually something I'm happy with, they're an arty-heavy formation that likes sitting static and pounding the hell out of things - I personally see little reason to make their organisation more varied because Nurgle is a pretty damn conservative god, so its more than likely they'll contently sit around in similar organisation...what nurgle could do with now is a few more playthings - I'm considering however altering the battlefield role of the Warhound in it to make it a slower thing designed more for the defence of the battle titans.

With the KHORNE list I'm actually imagining the originally suggested idea of Titan Warbands rather than anything else - so the core of the army is the Warlords or the Emperor's while everything else is an active part of that Warlords retinue...rather than having Battle Titans contently sitting side by side sharing things.

With the Undivided list I'm imagining a force centered around the concept dreamed up at the start of this wacky journey whereby I will focus on every Titan beeing its own isolated engine - so the idea would be to still make it somewhat of a departure from the AMTL, but have it closer than others.

Neal, do you have any more stuff on Chaos Titans you could email?

In addition I quite like the famfluff I have going on the Chaos Titan lists in having a cabal of Dark Magos involved with the Legio - and I'm loathe to drop it in favour of bringing in the less...techy stuff like Plague Towers, Plague Reapers MAYBE, but this is a Titan List rather than a Daemon Engine list...

The Daemon Engine list will be the Dark Mechanicus list this is, in part why I've decided not to do further work on the other two gods....these lists are Chaos Titans, the Dark Mechanicus are Daemon Engines, and other unfortunate experimental subjects, also a possibility of strange stunted workers from the Soulforge to allow oppertunities for people to use those pointy helmeted fellows.
