So, we now have a name for the mass combat game from DRM:

Because to be honest a lot of people will be looking for an Epic replacement as time goes by if we don't pick things up and currently if this is good it would be warmaster sci-fi or this.

the site is still down, i wonder whats going on there...

i really do think that if you like any of the previous editions of epic then you should like SOW, unfortunately i reckon Epic is on its last legs and its time for something new, something that is supported, with new releases, and great looking figs that arn't overpriced.

and free rules.............. :cool:

Hi guys. To answer a few questions...

The site is currently down. Doug and I have exchanged text messages on this, and it is in hand. As far as I know, this is a DNS error and should be fixed very shortly, later today (UK time).

The SoW rules sets takes parts for a number of places, and introduces a few extra, new ones. The player assigns order counters to formations, which then conduct alternating activation. Weapons are familiarly anti-infantry or anti-vehicle.

E&C - Stop by the DRM participation game and we will get you rolling a few dice! ?:)

Even if Epic was going strong, these SoW rules, IMO, are light years ahead of any Epic rules. As many here use that as "yard stick".  But again, IMO ... if G/W never did Epic, SoW is a new  standard for 6mm Sci-fi.  Covers a lot of things that Epic does not ... as well as does many things "better" ...  IMO ... :D
