I have a fairly decent sized Tau airforce that I use for Epic and I may get involved in AI. The question is regarding the AX-2-2.

1. Is it a viable choice in AI or just a gimmick? It does seem to me to have a high coolness factor.

2. How many of the Remora fighters can it support? I see that the bag comes with two and you can also get a package of four more. Is that the total number that the AX-2-2 can support?

I used the AX-2-2 only once so i cannot say too much about it.

What i liked was that i could re-roll my initiative, and the drones of course. Btw it says in the book it can carry two drones.

The craft itself isn't too good because of pretty low firepower and manoeuvre "low".

Re-rolling initiative is a great help and those two little remora's flying around make for great 'time wasting' moves when you need to see what yr opponent is going to do next...i reckon it's well worth it.
My friends and I also play that who ever get's initiative gets to choose to go first OR second; it makes for a better game (and it means that re-roll does a lot more damage!0

Just remembered something: the drones carry the great Tau seeker missiles, i think 2 or 3 per drone; best thing is, they are air-to-air. IMO the best reason to take the AX-2-2!
