For the Colossus, I think the big bomb should be something like:

BP3
Macro-Weapon
Disrupt
Ignores Cover
One Shot

Yes, it's a MOAB. :D

The Harbinger Bomber...  we bounced around some stats on the SG forum when it was first released.

These are TRC's stats:

Speed: Bomber
Armour: 5+ (Reinforced Armour)
Weapons:
Twin Autocannons 45cm AP4+/AT5+/AA6+ Fixed Forward
Twin Autocannons 30cm AP4+/AT5+/AA6+ Left Arc
Twin Autocannons 30cm AP4+/AT5+/AA6+ Left Arc
Bombs 6BP Ignore Cover.
Damage Capacity 4
Critical: Suffers an extra DC of damage.
Points: 525

The Vigilant isn't really a combat aircraft (It's an AWACS), so I don't think it'd be a suitable unit to incorporate into Epic.

Many Thanks E&C ! ?That all makes sense for those. And I figured the Colossus was packing a MOAB ! (BTW, I "heard" the new US MOAB [Mk.2 ?] is up from 21,000 lbs. to 30,000 lbs., IIRC !!! :D ) ? ? ? ? ? ? ?I think I'll stat the Vigilant as a standard B-26 + in the old SM1 they had some rules for a ?"Headhunter" device to go after HQs units. Plus maybe I'll add something that may cause jamming/a unit orders check within "N" amount of cms ? ?I'll use it as a EW aircraft ... :D ?Of course I have to order them ... but I like to know what I'm "getting" ! :;):

And I wouldn't add One Shot to E:As crafts as the idea was for the planes to refuel and rearm between turns.

I don't think that's ever been part of the rules concepts in this edition (I may be wrong).

A MOAB is a freaking big bomb. :D

What is MOAB?

It stands for Mega Ordinance, Air Burst, but is usually nicknamed Mother of All Bombs. It's a HUGE guided bomb. As L4 said, it's 21,000 pounds.

Yes, in E40K they had rules for rearming & refueling, IIRC ... But E:A does not mention it, AFAIK ... And the MOAB, I think the "M" stands for Massive, no matter either expresses the concept ! :D  I believe the "Mk.2" 30,000lber is designed to take out large underground facilities - like places that construct Nuclear weapons and stuff ... :D  So I've heard ... :D

Aye, however with each turn of Epic strictly representing 15 minutes, that's not even enough time to refuel and re-arm an aircraft, let alone take off, fly to the target, bomb the target, return to base, and land.

So it is the same aircraft that comes back each turn in an Epic game, without returning to base (It's just been loitering overhead / nearby awaiting orders to make its next attack run).

That would be the Ignore Cover part of the rule then. :D

Yeah, that was my take on it too ... the games too short to R&R Aircraft. And based on playing SPI, AH, etc. games, since it's a ground based game, we play it as follows - CAS ONLY - NO CAP/Air2Air - CAS flys on - engaged by AA in range, attack target, engaged by AA in range, flys off. That air unit is done for the game ...   And yes ... MOABs ignores cover ...  BOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooommm !!!!!!  :D

Although for Epic purposes - "Mega" works ! :D  I don't see those USAF FlyBoyz using a term like "Mega" ... not "techy" enough !    :;):         The Ork version would be a Mega-'Uge Bomm !  :alien:

I believe that that particular piece of text is illucidating flavour, and doesn't actually represent what is represented by the rules themselves.

IE: Jervis says 'they spend a bit longer refueling', rather than going into detail about what they're really doing.

'cos it's blatantly silly to say 'the plane is refueling' when a turn is 15 minutes... you'd probably have a transit time from the airbase to the battlefield of 30-60 minutes!
