Dear All,

I am very pleased to announce that I have found a new US representative for the Baccus and Command Horizon ranges. This will be Dave Tepool of Olde Rivertowne Miniatures.

I have been very impressed by Dave's commitment to his business, to customer care and his enthusiasm for 6mm figures. He has a great track record of working within the industry and is a successful businessman in his own right. I am looking forward to working with him and am certain that when all is up and running, Olde Rivertowne will offer a service second to none.

I'm afraid you can't place orders with David just yet. We are faced with the mammoth task of getting sufficient stocks cast up and sent out to him. Please bear with us while we get this process underway. In the meantime I'd like to welcome David to the Baccus team and thank you all for your patience.

Aw, shucks. I just proposed to the Rattlehead guys that they handle Command Horizon and DRM.

Much as I love Cloud City Games, shipping from Canada to the US is either expensive and/or slow.

I'm investigating how to use USPS shipping from here in Canada. Dream Pod 9 does this currently for all of their US shipping.

That said, I have heard that the USPS is raising their rates substantially starting tomorrow. Does anyone have any specifics about that? I've already seen several retailers drop their free shipping offers to the US in preparation of this increase.

Correct, USPS is raising its rates for most things. Domestic First class went from 39 to 41 cents. For letters/packages weighing over 1 ounce, the rate is actually going down. That might actually save a little money, but there are new rules on the dimensions of packages. You might get penalized for having a package that is bigger than most packages of the same weight. I think USPS is trying to encourage people to use as small of a package as possible. However, I don't know how these changes have affected international shipping.

That's why I use the flat rate boxes whenever I can, you'd be surprised how much you can safely pack in those.

Speaking from experience, you can fit a ton of stuff in them! Although the rate went up to $9.15 for the box, it can still be a bargain depending on what your shipping.

To be fair though you are also using Expidited Shipping for your orders which is the most expensive shipping option available from Canada Post and is about 40% more expensive than the Surface Parcel option.  :)

I've used Surface Parcel for other orders as well as ebay for years and its quite quick to the US.

Not as potentially fast as Expidited Shipping but a good balance between price and speed.
