Post subject:  Participation Game - Derby Wargames Show

We'll be attending the World Championships at Derby University this coming weekend.  If you've never been it's a great venue and well worth the effort.  The Baccus trade stand will be there with the full Command Horizon range.

In addition we'll also be staging a Participation game all weekend.  This will be an update to the original 'Ice Station Aardvark' game that we brought to Hammerhead earlier this year.  The game itself has been overhauled and updated.

The main feature of the game is the Ice Station - a hydro-carbon extraction facility in the polar region of an obscure planet currently held illegally by 'Polly's Pirates'.  A well-organised if under-resourced outfit.

The players take the side of the Centaurs.  Their briefing is as follows:

'You are the leader caste of the Centaur Graphite Clan.  It is many centuries since your WorldShip visited this planet which is rich in prized hydrocarbons.  However, as you enter orbit, you discover that it has been colonised by the two-legs.'

'Their main processing facility is in the Polar region of the planet and will have to be taken by ground assault.  You objective is to occupy the facility by defeating the two legs and you have six moves to accomplish this.'

A game should last about 30 minutes.   The experience of those who played at Hammerhead is that this is a tricky and thought-provoking little scenario.  Please feel free to come along and join in.

If you are going to the show and want to make an order for
collection, please get in touch as soon as possible.

Cheers

Peter
