Dom's struggling uploading photo's, so I have sacrificed a chicken, turned on the spot three times and made a circle of salt.

With luck you should see his artwork for the Avinashi Conscript.

Interersting ... I think many of these "other" forces ( Zho, Stygian, Avinashi, etc.) would make good cultist too ... I really like this "Avinashi", the Atlantian type armor you mentioned, and of course the Stygian[Jaffa] ... ;D

Wait? We've finally found a topic you haven't painted? :p.

Is there nothing we cannot achieve?

What do the conscripts look like? Orange robed Martial-artist monks
What do the guards look like? Bad-ass Gurkha commandos with kukri knives
What is their unique unit? Perhaps something with a nod to mysticism, like fortune-teller or monk with some ability to preict the future... Or a cool fortress-like command tank like a CapImp, but Tibetan looking.

Love it - but that sounds a touch similar to the Paladins who are our robed martial artist warrior monks.

I'll certainly use the above for the Paladins :D. As a bonus they'll be available in EVERY Royal Empire army.

Maybe we could do an Arabic kingdom?

What do the conscripts look like? Gasmasks and Berets - officer with a cup of tea is essential.
What do the guards look like? Knightly, powered armour based around the hundred years war.
What is their unique unit? A rover for the land, light vehicle carrying a light slug gun OR transporting one stand.

+1 for these dudes

What about

Kingdom name : varangia
Kingdom inspiration : Russia
Conscripts look like : greatcoats and bolt action rifles
Guard look like : elaborate greatcoats + armour, large bearskin hats
Unique unit : tesla coils

Vikings are always cool ;D
There's a big risk for such a theme to get silly though. Sifi vikings ::) But GW made it work somehow, look at Space wolfs. They're cool :D A kingdom that's close combat oriented anyways.

Kingdom name : Was actually going to suggest Varangian Kingdom but is sort of spoken for by kyussinchains :) Norse? Norden? Anyhow these dudes comes from a cold and rather barren planet.
Kingdom inspiration : Norse culture + berserker mythology.
Conscripts look like : Light on armour, medieval/viking looking clothes. Hair with braids, Think teutogen guard/SW hair and beard styles. Preferably some close combat weapons on their backs like axes in addition to the rifles. Or rifle in one hand and axe in the other. Vikings were said to be rather big/tall. I'd make them slightly longer like 7mm or perhaps 6.5 if that's to much.
Guard look like :Axes, round (power)shields, pelts over their armor, preferably wolf. Still needs to look Sifi of course, might be hard to get right. (Just please no winged helmets ;) )
Unique unit : Scouts with wolfs. Bersker looking dudes + wolves. (to nerdy?).

cheers

We did talk about doing a Guild legion with a Norse theme, the idea being that they were Tarragin hosts. Ended up with the Tarragin and Guild allying though.

We could run with a norse kingdom though - that might be fun.

I support the Angles 110 Percent, and would like to see THOSE awesome sounding dudes more than almost any other range I could think of turning up in exodus wars. I would support the norse idea, though not as much....here's my take on it.

Kingdom name : Something Vikingy, probably in A Norsemen language.
Kingdom inspiration : Norse/viking mythology.
Conscripts look like : Huge guys with Light Armor with very brutal looking ranged weapons, designed more for rugged reliability and large amounts of short ranged firepower than long ranged accuracy, and of course axes for even closer destruction of enemies
Guard look like : Big Extremly Powerful Guns close to mid ranged guns, and Large Thunderhammers or Axes.
Unique unit : Ulfenwerner. in norse days, these guys thought they were half wolf and had wolf powers. in sci-fi, thorugh the power of genetic mess ups, they could be right.
