Okay, here's the rub.
The Death Korps of Krieg in 40k have several big boosts to their Close Combat abilities.
- They don't care if they're outnumbered in close combat. - They have +1 Weapon Skill over normal IG (WS4 instead of WS3). - They can rally even if their squad has been dropped below half strength.
Now, I've chosen to represent this by giving the Kriegsmen a better than normal CC value of 5+.
That's better than normal Guardsmen, not as good as Tactical Marines, and the same as Storm Troopers.
Should Krieg infantry units keep their 5+ CC stat?

Definitely CC5+. WS4 is enough to justify it I think, Storm Troopers have WS3 in 40k and they got CC5+...

Agreed, but Storm Troopers' CC stat is reflected by the grenades they tend to carry etc.

If you are on the fence (which you seem to be otherwise you wouldn't have posted a poll) I'd recommend going with a 6+ and wait for the playetesting to come in. It is ALWAYS better to underpower it than overpower it. The DE list came into balance a lot faster that way and I think it will help the Minervans too... Er, I mean Kriegs.

CC5+ is fine. Or a special rule that the enemy don't get the +1 for having more units.

Can increased morale and stubborn willingness to do or die be represented by increased save? If so, I'd be tempted to make them Save 6+ and CC 6+, off the back of their 40k stats. But I'd rather it was based off of what the feel is in the background, and they seem to be characterised as fanatically willing to lay down their lives more than as a close combat elite.
That said, I definitely think IG can be placed at CC5+ for the right, elite regiments (eg catachans). The question is whether kreig are really the place for that.
I've voted for CC 6+ but I'm honestly 60/40
