@Leviathan: No clue.

@Chimera: Each unit is a Squad of its own with its own Chimera.

@Chimera Defender: In the fluff about the Leman Russ Destroyer it is stated that the Chimera Defender is its predecessor and invented on Armageddon. I thought it very fitting  :smile:

I thought that the 'defender' was armed with a rapier laser destroyer (the multi-barreled lascannon as seen in the Baran list) rather than the Laser Destroyer on the tank hunter.

That would make it
Rapier Laser Destroyer 45cm AT4+/AP6+

I alway imagined it as similar to the salamander with a rapier instead.  The rapier would be no bigger than the heavy mortar on a griffon.

After I looked in my books for any mention of the 'Defender' it simply states in Imperial Armour I that it is armed with a laser destroyer and look like a Marder.  So I guess it would have this weapon that few forgeworlds have the skills to handcraft each. - To me it seems a bit weird.

What a difference one word makes.

So this response is about 7 months late but.. is there a downloadable list for the 2.3 or 2.4 version of the "true steel legion"? if so, contact my email.

Will even Wh40k removed the special vulenrabiloty of the Hellhound due to it's exposed promethium tanks.
You could reson that such external apperature/ammunition is extra heavy protected.

I'm reluctant toinclode hard 0-x caps as this is pretty much frowned by the community. x per y is mich wider used especially for things as support formations etc.
Specialcase is the Regimetnal HQ. But then the "only one allowed" wording is directly from the rulebook.

The idea behind the x per x restricions is that ALL Infantry is transported with the exepction of Hive Militia Conscripts. The non-mechanised Infantry is the bodyguard of the Leviathan.

The CC bonus against Orks for free seems a bit unfair.
Prefered Enemy still exist in Wh40k though :) Extending this to Chaos is unjustified because there are no survivors of the 1st War but lots of experienced veterans of the 2nd War who still serve in the Steel Legion and teach the new recruits how to best fight Orks.

I'm not aware of any community written lists using the x per x system?

Death Korps of Krieg has 0-1 Death Rider company per 1500pts.
