Is this the latest version of the list? Going to give her a work out again.

I had a look at this list. Its company and command formations are fairly weak for their points cost. Especially since the cavalry do not have ranged attacks and a move of only 20cm and a 6+ save.

The support forces are varied considering the planets population is nomadic, and technology would not be as advanced as it is on other planets. That being said, the army does need some support, and the addition of Leman Russes, Griffin light artillery, Hydras, chimera mounted guardsmen, and other units from the standard guard list could be the planets dedicated PDF. The tribes with their chieftans and Warlord with his personal tribe making up the core forces.

I like the fact that there are no super heavies, as that would not fit in with the theme. The Valkyries and Storm troopers and the Vendettas provide the faster mobile formations to deal with isolated objectives, and enemy flankers. I also like the limit to Warhound titans as the other larger titans would not be able to keep up.

I think a reduction in cost for the core formations, or increasing the support fomations to 3 for every core fomation, might allow you to get the activations needed in tournament games, and a few more choice heavier or strategically vital support formations - griffons, leman russ, valkyries/storm troopers, mechanised infantry, and specialist cavalry like the dragoon scouts with their herding rifles.

Since Attilans tend to rely on fast units, and mobile tactics, perhaps increase their strategy rating to 3. Initiative ratings look okay.

The quirkiest thing about the list is that crazy rule about the mobile objective. I understand where it comes from, and gives the list character. I can see cases where the enemy herds the mobile Blitz up near their own Blitz, and thus control 2 objectives while dumping on your blitzes defenders. Since no objective can be setup less than 30cm from another, I was wondering if that rule should come into play, or would it restrict the mobile nature of the Attilan blitz too much.

Generally the list reminds me of the weaker guard air assault lists out there to some degree. They however rely on dropping in troops similar to a marine drop assault army, however, if you spend the points with them, they come with their own skimmer transports. These lists rely on mass formations to hold and deny objectives, and provide opportunities for combined assaults, because they suffer from lack of ranged attacks especially MW or TK weapons. The arbites lists I want to run also works like this. I have worked out that I can get 14 or 15 formations into a 3000 point list to make up for that lists weaknesses.

Anyway I hope the comments I have made give you food for thought. More supports per core, slightly cheaper core formations (but not too cheap), increased strategy rating.

Thanks for the C&C everyone!

The core choices are probably too expensive.

My thinking was:

1) It’s going to be a fine line between them being too many points... and massed combined engagement first strike triple inspiring engagement silliness!

2) Taxing the core formations is to keep the overall army activation count down. If testing finds the list we could try increasing the size of the formation? Or the core formations could be Initiative 1+? Or the army could be Strategy Rating 3?
