Well, despite all the distractions in my life, I was able to do a little more work on my "Black Crusade" EPIC supplement.

It's essentially the EPIC version of "Eye of Terror", combining the two recently released Chaos lists, plus other relevant stuff.

There's been scattered work on various lists to represent the Cadians, but I'm not sure how active development is, so I tried my hand at it, building on what has come before, and produced two lists:

A Cadian "Strike Force" and a Cadian defense force.

I've put together a .pdf of both lists and would love it if people could take a look and comment.

Ah-ha! Someone likes Cadians again! Me and mate have been fiddling with them off and on for some time, with mixed success. I shall have a read, dig out of the archives the old Cadian list and say what we have been trying!

Looks good,

I might be able to play test this for you since i have a stack of guard. I notice that stats for the Karskin are a bit of a cut & paste error at the moment though.

Cadians yay! It's about time i think :D I was thinking about write a Cadian list by myselfe at some time.
Did you had a look at my GenreralImperialGuard armylist? It includes epic rules suggestions for all the doctrines and exampels for Cadians too.

Looks like a good start, but I do think that giving ATSKNF to IG is a bad idea!

Well, it's reuse of an already existing rule, it only applies to Kasrkin formations, and goes away if the unit Commander is killed... seems to represent the "iron will" of the Cadians quite nicely.

What do you see as the problem, E&C?

I would say drop the Deathstrike and Whiteshields from the Strike list.
Switch the Kasrikin Infantry and the Whiteshields in the Defense list.

I was considering a *single* Deathstrike Launcher in the Strike list.

The Whiteshields are in the Strike list to hold ground as the Mech forces sweep through.

What do you mean with the "switch" in the Defense list?

Kasrkin have only slightly better Leadership than normal Guard in 40k. The have nothing approaching the Ld. benefits of Marines in that game.


They're brave, but not *that* brave.

The rule is to reflect the "Iron Discipline" ability in 40k which allows units under half to still regroup and not suffer the -1 to Morale/Pinning when under half... which is essentially, I believe, the 40k special moral run that Space Marines use.

As well, it can be eliminated by killing the Commander unit, so it's not permanently in play if the Kasrkin formation gets savaged.

They *are* supposed to be hardcore...  :D

How would you suggest reflecting Kasrkin's "elite" nature?

Initiative 1+? ?Leader on their Commanders? ?Something else?

I like re-using already created rules in different ways, if possible.

The Elysian army (Which has Iron Discipline in 40k) represents this rule by allowing all formations to take 1 extra blast marker than normal before they become broken.



Note that in 40k, Kasrikin don't get to use the Iron Discipline rule, while the normal Infantry Platoons do.
