So, we're slowly getting back into the swing of things, settling in and such and it's time to get some more EPIC games in!

This was the first, as far as I know, playtest involving my Cadian "Shock Troops" Strike Force list.

More details on the Cadians in the attached .pdf.

That's a lot of vultures! Poor Orkses... :D Looking forward to seeing how this goes.

I used Neal's big stompamob change myself a couple of weeks ago, but with 4 kans and a flakwagon also. Worked well I thought :)

Nice. I noticed that your ImperialBastion isn't fearless. So because of its Speed 0 it will be automatically destroyed if ti looses an assault.

Ehmmm... where's the cadian's AA? i can't see it anywhere! (i won the Atlam War Campaign almost because of lucky battles in which i fielded 6 fightabommers against NO AA!)

Ah, the Bastion *should* be fearless, that'll be in the next revision, good catch!

As to the lack of AA, yep, as the Cadian player showed me his army list before set up I said, "So, no AA?"  He paused... "Damnit."  He decided to see how he'd do without it.

As to the batrep, well, I couldn't get into TacComm all morning and now I have to head out to a client, so the report will have to come later!  Sorry!

Edit: And Karskins have initiative of 1+, they aren't that much better than regular stormtroopers, are they?

They are not.

In fact, they're meant to be slightly worse than regular Storm Troopers, because they're not allowed to use Valkyries.


free MW small arms attacks (sanctioned psykers).

Make this 1 per 1000 or 1500 points.



I would also make the upgrade to Vanquisher cost something!

I addition, I'd completely remove the 'defense' list.

Kasrkin 1+ IR is Overkill to me, at least regulate them like Black Guardians

Kasrkin shouldn't be better than Stormtroopers. Make them Initiative 2+.

Battlefield:

4x6 - Tournament Scenario level of terrain
Dice off - Orks chose edge deployment.

Deployment:

No reserves.

Dice off - Cadians deploy first garrison.

Cadians garrison Vulture Platoons 1 and 2 forward, popped-up, and on overwatch.

Orks garrison Stompamob 1 in ruins and the Gunzmob in the central swamp, both on overwatch, they also garrison the Stormboyz and the Warband.

Remaining deployment as shown, with the Elite Kasrkin deployed inside their Valkyries:

Turn 1

Strategy Roll: Cadians? after a tie and re-roll.

The Deathstrike Missile Launchers get a lock on Stompamob 2 and sustain fire. ?The first missile misses with a "1"? the second missile hits the Supa-Stompa? and gets a "6" for damage, instantly destroying the big Ork machine and breaking the formation.

Vulture Platoon 3 advances down the road, keeping low and out of sight and then unloads all Hellstrikes on the Kult of Speed, scrapping 2 Skorchas and 2 Buggies, breaking the survivors as well.

In an attempt at revenge, the Fighta-Bommerz dive down and ground attack the buttoned-up Elite Kasrkin? and place a single Blast marker after scoring no hits!

Still looking for revenge, the Gunzmob sustains fire on the "just in range" Karsrkin HQ and wipes out 3 Kasrkin and 5 Chimeras, easily breaking the hardened warriors.

Vulture Squadron 1 advances into a better position and unloads on Blitz Brigade 2? and a single Flakwagon survives to high-tail it away from the action.

Blitz Brigade 1 doubles down the road to fire on Vulture Squadron 3 and the nearby broken Kasrkin HQ, but only a single Kasrkin breaks rank and flees.

Vulture Squadron 2 advances on Stompamob 1 and takes out 1 Stompa with their volley of missiles.

Stompamob 1 responds by doubling towards Vulture 2, losing a Stompa to a pothole, and only placing a Blast marker on their targets.

The Elite Kasrkin hesitate, but then are advised to double forward into cover' firing on Blitz Brigade 1 and taking out 2 Gunwagonz in the process.

Seeing some easy prey, the Stormboyz thread their way through the swamp to engage Vulture Squadron 2. ?They lose 2 Deth Koptas in the attack, but trash 2 Vultures and send the survivors packing.

The Baneblade rumbles forward on a double and puts a Blast marker on Stompamob 1.

The Warboss and Warband double towards the Elite Kasrkin, but score no kills.

Kasrkin Alpha doubles on Stompamob 1, taking out 1 Stompa and breaking them.

Kasrkin Beta doubles on Stompamob 1 as well, and scares the krew out of another Stompa?

End of Turn:

Vulture Platoon 3 and Blitz Brigade 2 are the only formations to rally?

Turn 2

Strategy Roll: Cadians

Kasrkin Beta engages Blitz Brigade 1 with counter-charges into the nearby Elite Kasrkin.  Two Storm Troopers are taken out, but the Orks are eliminated.

Kasrkin Alpha then engages the intermingled Gunzmob and Stormboyz.  One Big Gun is lost to the swamp as the counter-charge, and the Orks actually manage to take out 5 Chimeras before the Cadians wipe them all out.  *OUCH*

The Fighta-Bommerz buzz down to hit Kasrkin Alpha taking out 1 Kasrkin and another Chimera.

Vulture Squadron 1 doubles on the fragment of Blitz Brigade 2 and breaks the lone Flakwagon.
The Warband doubles after the Elite Kasrkin and puts another Blast marker on them.

The Elite Kasrkin advance to reposition themselves and their Valkyries drop 4BPs on them taking out 4 Grots and 3 Boyz.

Vulture Squadron 3 doubles on Stompamob 1 and takes out the broken klankers.

Guarding Cadian Objective 2, the Baneblade goes on overwatch.

Guarding the Cadian Blitz, the Deathstrike Launchers go on overwatch?

End of Turn:

Vulture Squadron 2 fails to rally for the Cadians.

While the bellowing of the Warboss are the only thing that gets the Warband rallied and cleared of Blast markers.
