QUOTE
I ready have Gorgon Mk.2s & 3s with my DoK.  I understand the fluff, but I think Gorgons make good DoK APCs. And I'd like to see the F/W Gorgon in Epic scale ... but who knows ?

Unfortunately that's "unlikely".

But then again, I was told the same thing when I asked if they'd make me a Resin Slann for my Fantasy Lizardmen...

This year's GamesDay ltd edition model? A resin Slann. :D

Yes, I doubt it too ...  We could always put a GHQ/GZG LCM on a set in tracks and make a F/W  Hvy Gorgon Mk.4 for ourselves !  :D

Version 1.1

Did I miss anything?

Things to think about if we can't find any glaring holes in the list:

- How to represent a huge railway-borne/tracked siege cannon / 'ordinatus Krieg' (Perhaps that's a pet name for it, as Ordinatus themselves belong to the Adeptus Mechanicus).

- Capitol Imperialis stats & points.

You're Thudd Gun has AP4+/AP6+...schouldn't it be AP4+/AT6+ :)
The Havey Flamer Turret for Chimaeras has still AP5+ as the Salamander Command.

And what about my idea of FF6+ for the Infantry and dropping Ogryns and Snipers?

FF6+ for the Infantry

I don't think so... even though they're a bit better at CC than most IG regiments, as IG they're still going to be relying on FF more often.

dropping Ogryns and Snipers

Ogryns can probably be safely dropped you're quite right.

ForgeWorld will almost certainly be producing Krieg Snipers however, so they should probably remain, just renamed.

Not sure if this is right or not , but I think I have read on the Warseer forum that FW are going to be producing Ogryns for the DKoK.

I think it would make sense to have them in this list as it is essentialy an assault/siege army. I know DKoK are supposed to be very pure thinking when it comes to 'abhumans', but such heavy hitting infantry shouldn't be ignored?.

As far as I know there will be no Death Korps Ogryns.

Warseer has plenty of pictures of the Heavy MBT concepts however.

Just a mior detail but the FW Stormsword models seems to be equiped with what looks like flamers and not lascanons in its sponson turrets.

That is indeed correct... whoever wrote the Collector's chart got it wrong and I just copied the stats without engaging my brain. :)

Ok, been thinking about the Capitol imperialis and the fact that there doesnt seem to be a E:A version.  Looking at the NetEpic rules they are:

Armour- average 1+ (template)
10cm move
CAF +12
6 voidshields

weapons:
Behemoth cannon 50cm 4bp 5+  -1save (lays 4 markers)
Plasma guns  75cm  5+  -2 save  6dice
heavy bolters  25cm  6+  8dice

Notes- can transport 2 companies

Not that helpful for E:A though...
-------

Looking at the inquisition experimental rules for the basilica imperialis and inq fortress id imagine the basic stat line should look like:

War Engine   Move 10cm  Armour 4+  CC 5+  FF 4+
Notes: Reinforced Armour, Thick Rear Armour, Supreme Commander, DC 10, 5 Void Shields

Thats roughly the same armour, ff and cc as a baneblade and same DC/shields as an inq fortress.

The weapons represent more of a problem.

Behemoth Cannon
6BP gives 2 templates and 1 extra blastmarker, while 8 BP gives 2 templates.  MW not appropriate as doesnt have a high save mod.

On the balance id go for:

8BP 30cm Indirect Fire

Also the plasma guns dont really have a clear E:A analogue, though lascannons would fit the role so how about 4 lascannons.

As to Heavy Bolters 4 HB seems about right too, particularly since the original rules allowed ?10? stands to fire from the roof (as many as could fit on it).

-------

So final stats:
War Engine   Move 10cm  Armour 4+  CC 5+  FF 4+
--
Behemoth Cannon  8BP 30cm Indirect Fire
4XLascannon   45cm  AT4+
4xHeavy Bolter 30cm AP5+

Notes: , DC 10, Critical Damage as Gorgon, 5 Void Shields, Reinforced Armour, Thick Rear Armour, Supreme Commander, Transport capacity (40 infantry, grenadiers or fire support units.  Rough riders take up 2 slots each), Firing Slits*

*As many stands as can fit on the roof may fire from firing slits in the capitol imperialis.  These units cannot be targetted while they are transported.

As to cost- something in the 500 - 650 points mark going on the fact that it is somewhere between a BAsilica and Inq Fortress.

Thoughts?

10DC, how much is this thing going to cost mate. Its a strike cruiser on tracks. I am not sure that it should be DC10, 6-8 maybe 2-4 shields.

Cheers

PlasmaCannons have stats on the LR Demolisher. They are 30cm AP4+/AT4+ slow-firing.

But elsewhere the stats and points look good to me.

Well, the stats as ive said ive brought over from the inquisition task force list where an inq mobile fortress has the same armour and DC.  It may be too high though- i dont know how well accepted that list is.  I dont think the DC is unrealistic though, particularly given the limited range on the weapon systems.  Its only slightly more DC than a warlord titan and has much less firepower.

@ Black legion- your right.  For some reason i was thinking of a plasma destructor which is carried by the executioner and didnt seem the right thing.

I think that 4 x plasma cannons is actually quite fitting- haing a point blank volley then needing a turn to recharge seems good.

EDIT- changed drop fortress to mobile fortress. D'oh.

I'd avoid having a rule that lets you shoot as many units as will fit on top... because the CI is rather old anyone using this list might potentially be converting their own.

A flat 'one half/quater of the potential firepower of any transported infantry formations may be fired' should suffice.
