- no valkyries or vultures
- no mobile AA
- no mobile artillery

- They're a ground-based, tank-heavy Imperial Guard army. They're not going to be all that different, when you get right down to it.

Their defining image is the gorgon-borne infantry. So that's what the list's centred around.

When you get down to it, the Death Korps are a unique mix between the Siegemasters, the Steel Legion, and some historical forces.

If the list looks similar to the Steel Legion, well, that's as may be, I'm not prepared to change the list so that it adheres to what our personal opinion of what Krieg armies should look like. I'm collating this list to reflect the Death Korps of Krieg as closely as I can. I don't want this list to be the Fan-Fic Korps of Krieg, bearing little resemblance to their 40k counterparts.

Krieg get a very, very wide choice of tanks & heavy tanks, but they need those massive infantry formations first. That's the theme, that's the structure.

And no Sentinels :)
Interesting is that the Deathriders will have a 6+ Invulnerable Save in Wh40k.

Alright thanks for the good definition of the continued direction and the differences from the current IG list.

You can balance a list with lots of choices, it's just harder to do. :)

I am considering pulling the super-heavy mortar out however, since it was seemingly not put into production.

It almost seems like the FW focus is on a bunch of 'lite' Super Heavy Tanks and Transport charging across the trenches with some MTB and artillery support with Cavalry supporting as scouts.

we did ask if any of the death core stuff would be done in Epic mainly because of the Gorgan, they said  (this came for some of the designers and modelers) that they were not sure yet, but it is a thing that they would want to do in the future.

and i think the Malcador is an orignal idea, but i'm sure E&C will Know

I see ... so if we're lucky, we'll see some the DoK (the Gorgon, Macharius, maybe the Centaur ?) in 6mm in the future ... And the Malcador is just a cool conversion !  THanks :D

E&C just keep in mind that all IG armies get the 4 super heavies. As far as I can remember these kind of restrictions doesn't appear in 40k, so basing things on that isn't a good idea. Again you have to make a list that doesn't include everything and kitchen sink. Also it has to have a feeling of it's own and be faithful to it.

- The Death Korps are specifically allowed all four Super Heavy Tanks (Sorry Hena!) :)

- The Death Korps have a *very* wide selection of Leman Russ MBT's to choose from.

Yes but if you put them all into an epic army you end up with a rag tag kitchen sink look. If that is what you are after go for it, otherwise you are making a mistake.

The steel legion could have masses of options but it doesn't get them. It gets its core formations (mechanise, 2 types) another useful one (armour, 1 type) and a support (artillary) then some variety and upgrades to make the core a bit more flexible. yes the steel elgion has a million varients of the chimera, yes it has other russ types - but to be a good list it doesn't need them. Its variety for its own sake, not for its feel or intention.
