1. Add Notes section to all datafaxes. This helps things like forgetting notes from commissar. So it's missing the fearless and what-not it should have.


Yep, they're probably already there in fact, just lost in the formatting change when I made this list from the Death Korps one.

2. Salamander command vehicle. Shouldn't this have 'Scout' ability? Or then it needs to be within 5cm from another member of the unit. The Salamander groups price is something to watch ... perhaps 125 to start with really.

Worth thinking about, especially Scout.

3. The Tank Hunter :D. I think I'm going to start with stats 45cm, AT4+ and sniper. Since the ability is frighteningly good.


45cm - No. Modifying the range that low is against the background / rules.
AT4+ - Perhaps. It should really be slightly more accurate than a standard Leman Russ though.

I'd rather increase the points price than drop the abilities of this tank. It is obscenely powerful in anti-tank operations in the background & 40k rules. Very very powerful (Moreso than a Vanquisher!), and AT3+ 75cm is a good representation of this.

4. Chimera turrets. I assume that you want to keep these. I'm not so happy about it, but at least copy the "look" from Marine Razorback.

Sounds fine.

5. Also the Leman Russ Executioner. Copy the look from Land Speeder.

Again sounds fine.


6. Should they have 0 - 1 Deathstrikes same as Steel legion?

Sounds good to me.

Playability against fluff ... playability works everytime. Somehow i can see our familiar pattern once more here.


Aye, I tend to often think that if one were to find a mid-ground between the two of us, you'd quite possibly get the perfect list. :D


I could see AT4+ 75cm. But the range cannot be modified without going against the canon. :)


Ps. If I ever come to england, I need to schedule a few games with you. And same should you ever end up here in Finland :D :laugh:.

Hellhound is a support vehicle based on the Chimera chassis... if you want them in the Tank Company... add them via a Support Formation... operationally they'd not be pooled with Leman Russ.

It's just too good an ability. I might listen to 60cm AT4+


AT4+, 75cm, 100points.

That's what I'm setting it at at the moment.

The range *cannot* be compromised on without breaking away from the canon, and I'd rather it was costed obscenely (And at 100 points it may very well be, for the cost of two of them you could get a Shadowsword with a TK2+ gun!).

Breaking the canon starts with making up new ranges for guns and ends with deciding that warhound titans would be better if they could fly.

They may be (based on a different chassis). However with Armoured Regiment, I'd be willing to mix them (or even field an entire company of them). This would allow one more company and make it a bit more different of the steel legion one.

It's worth considering as a possibility, it's worth researching how Tank Regiments deploy their Hellhounds (IIRC it was in split-up supporting formations only, not as combined Companies, but I'll check).

I was thinking of Tallarn Armoured (I like Tallarns, and know nothing about Minerva's forces)?

I think Tallarn is a good choice for the 'list'.  Cadians need to be something more unique and not necessarily a 'general' list. Minerva I do not think would get the same interest as Tallarn.  Also Vahallan may work especially since the infantry is more readily available.
