Well I've decided to add some Bikes and land Speeders to my new Dark Angles army. As I have a few spare models I was thinking about doing some extra models with character upgrades. So the question is: Anybody got any experience with Character upgrades for these units? What Characters are best suited for Land Speeders in your opinion? And which for Bikes? |

Librarians in Speeders: it's another MW FF attack. Any other character works well with Bikes, as they are more close-combat oriented, with a Chaplain being good for boosting the combat result. |

I like the Librarians for both, but Chaplains are good for Bikes, too. I virtually always use Speeders in a fire/support assault role. Move-fire-support maxes available MW attacks. Even if they are just 5+ to hit you can pile up a lot of numbers and Librarian just adds more MWFF attacks. Even with Bikes' speed I frequently find myself outside of CC range. Chaplains are still good for the +1 resolution regardless of whether they reach base contact if they are participating in the assault, but cannot do anything to support an assault. Typically, I like to keep my characters away from the edges of the formation to protect them and that means CCMW attacks are sometimes lost. Overall, for bikes I consider Chaplains and Librarians of about equal value. |
