As I am about to have a crack at converting a detachment of these I thought I might post some possible stats to see what peopls thoughts are. Here goes;

Land Raider Helios

I made a couple models like that with some of the E40K Raiders !   Looks like good stats !

Yep. First appeared in the first softcover Imperial Armour update, then in the hardcover Imperial Armour 2.

I am going to give it a shot in the morning and I will take a few shots along the way to see how they pan out. I bout some new toys to assist in cutting, I also piked up some green stuff to make the targeting array.
   I can then give them a go in a game over the next couple of weeks and add some feedback on performance.

More precisely, Land Raider without heavy bolters, with a Whirlwind slapped on top, but yes, that's all it is.  I'll have to dig out my copy of IA2, but I think that it can carry a stand of infantry, too.

I removed the transport option as I think that the Helios should cost the same as a normal LR. You have to have some trade-off for the whirlwind. IA2 states that it can carry six power armoured marines. So it would be able to carry one stand of, Tac, Dev or Scouts.

I have all but completed the first two Helios. The stumbling block is the Targeting Array. It is rather a small piece to work with. I have removed the gun barrels from the HB and I will use some green to make the front end. The other thing getting in the way is my original summer project, a Blood Ravens Task Force. So far I have completed one Tac Det and a Dev Det. More to follow.

Hi all

Well I finnished them a while ago and I have finnaly got around to posting the pics. I could not for the life of me get the targeting array right so I put the HB on instead. Enjoy
