Hello, not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here goes. ?Basically, I am entering the Full Scale Assault Epic Armageddon tournament in Mansfield in March. ?I'm very much looking forward to this for two reasons: 1) it'll be my first Epic tournament; and 2) it'll be the first time I've been able to play Epic for sometime!

Anyway, I'm taking my Iron Hands Space Marine army, as this is the one which is fully painted and, in my opinion, ready for gaming.

My dilemma is as follows. ?The list I'm going to post is for 3,500 points - but the tournament is 3,000 points. ?What units totalling 500 points from this list shall I drop?

As I'm a relatively inexperienced Epic player I don't expect to do very well, especially as I'm taking Marines which aree infamous for being a difficult army! ?:D ?But any advice as to what would give me the best chance would be appreciate. ?Here's the list:

Terminator Detachment (+ Commander) 375pts

Tactical Detachment (+ Iron Father (counts as Chaplain))350pts

Tactical Detachment (+ Librarian, + Hunter) 425pts

Devestator Detachment (+ Razorbacks, + Hunter) 425pts

Land Raider Detachment 400pts

Predator Detachment 300pts

Whirlwind Detachment (+ Hunter) 375pts

Warlord Titan 850pts

Total 3,500pts

Thanks for looking! ?

My advice...

Ditch the Landraiders, predators (which can't have a hunter IIRC) Librarian, commander, chaplain.

Stick a chaplain with the termis, a supreme commander and razorback (take it from the devastators if necessary) and hunter with the tacticals, and add a another whirlwind detachment with hunter (or just keep the predators and add another commander and razorback to the other tacticals).

I'd stick your two objectives close to the enemy blitz, and then try and take the cluster of three objectives with the warlord aided by the rest of your units - march in the first turn with warlord if necessary. If possible take some scouts as well. Hail to the machine! :;):

Okay, I've corrected the list and corrected it, moving the Hunter from the Preds (you're right, I can't put them there!) to one of the Tac Detachments.

Thank you for your suggestions.  I should have specified that this is ALL I have to play round with, altough I could change the Warlord for two Warhounds, but I figure I'll need the fire support from the big titan.

So I'm afraid I can't field an extra Whirlwind detachment (as I don't have one and can't afford another), and don't have a spare few Marine stands to replace the commander units in the various detachments.  I may drop the commander in the Termies detachment, and perhaps the Librarian.

I think you're right about the Predators - the Land Raiders will probably do the same job (AT/AI support) but with more resilience.

So if I drop the Preds, and 2 commanders, that's 400points down - is there anything else I can do?

Thanks again for looking!

Yes put the preds back in and drop the landraiders instead. Used right (avoid enemy fire and use your manoeuverability to concentrate fire) they are probably a better deal than landraiders against most enemies.
