I don't think it's a fighter. It looks to be a Storm Eagle variant, loosing the 20 transport capacity in favour of lots of guns, I reckon it's more of a ground attack craft. Fighters in 40k all have a 'supersonic' rule meaning they can move a lot further than regular flyers. The Caestus Assault Ram has supersonic, but Thunderhawks and Storm Eagles don't. IMO this would probably make this a Bomber in Epic, perhaps a Fighter-Bomber. Really all the newer SM aircraft deserve to be actual aircraft, making them skimmers isn't really appropriate. We've already got a SM fighter anyway - the Storm Talon. It's not very aerodynamic, but with far future tech this is clearly irrelevant for marines. |
