I'm now musing over whatever to include a Storm Raven in my Minotaurs army.

I had planned to convert a pair into Storm Eagles to 'counts as' Marauder Bombers, so as to be able to field a pure SM army. I think the model looks awful and much worse than the nice Storm Eagle design, but I do like adding extra variety and I could just go ahead and paint one up now rather than having to wait several months or more till I can afford to temporarily buy a 40k Storm Eagle kit to get the conversion right for the other. Hmm...

its not the as much the asthetics that kill this model for me, more the toooooooo many guns. If it didnt have that nose mounted HB or MM on it I wouldnt have minded it, but for F%&! sake! its got every kinda gun there is!!!!!!!!!!! come on GW!

Reminds me rather of the beginning of a Rambo spoof, where the 'ultimate soldier' arms up by methodically strapping on a multitude of weapons - - - -
- - and then falls over.

It definitely had too many weapons for it's size, its gratuitous. Particularly when its not only a gunship but also meant to squeeze on 12 Marines to that tiny space plus (ludicrously) a Dreadnought, magnetized onto a grapple on the back.

I think I'm going to ad 7-10mm or so of extra length to the body of mine, so that the overall profile from above becomes rectangular and similar to the Thunderhawks rather than being square. It'd actually looks quite good then.

I think it looks capable of flying though. It has for sets of twin downwards pointing thrusters and looks like it could take off vertically or hover easily enough.

So does the standard marine version also come with 'Bllodstrike' Missiles too? I would have taken the BA codex more seriously if they didn't add 'Blood' to almost everything, I'm fairly certain even the dreadnought got given 'Blood' fists.

I actually liked the fact that this was just a BA/GK thing.

I agree with Bloodstrike that sounding silly. Grey Knights got Mindstrike Missiles and the GW online store page mentions there now being Stormstrike Missiles, which are presumably what regular marines have with theirs. Oh how original...

I find it amusing that Storm Ravens can be taken by everyone now but BA still can't take Storm Talons.
Probably shows which kit is more popular
