Should the standard assault cannon and power fist dreadnaught be dropped?
Yes.

Helios. Should they go and remain in more armour/firepower focused lists...
I think the Helios upgrade should be to normal land riaders, as they are the basic unit in the formation, or one of the options, so the extra text is superfulous.
I've only used them when I misunderstood the list and added them to the Whirlwind formation. In that capacity, I thought they worked fine. Personally, I've never been a big believer in the "just a BP or two" philosophy, but I realize there are many who love it and I can see some value in an assault force. However, at the same time I don't necessarily think they are needed for the list.
I don't think it's critical either way.

Land Raiders
Should they go the way of the Vindicator?
Flavor wise, I'm not sure. In practical terms, I always choose the Redeemer over vanilla LRs. If I want a base-of-fire SM formation, I usually go with Razorbacks. I looked at adding LRs in the Salamanders for extra transport and higher armor saves to put out front, not adding firepower, so the regular LRs never seemed like an especially attractive option.
Redeemers I love. I think they work well for a "stand and hold" kind of position as well, because their 30cm assault range is a serious threat and gives the Sallies some decent area denial. And for a classic SM move/fire/support where you want to be within 15cm support range anyway, the multiple 15cm shots are wicked.

Land Raider Upgrade
I think this should be just Land Raiders, or maybe Land Raiders and Redeemers (though having nothing but ignore cover AP attacks is both a negative and a terrifying plus point). The Prometheus should be from the close support upgrade only.
No specific position on this, but I do think cleaning up the LR and Close Support upgrades would be a good idea. Like the others, not critical, but it would be a nice clean up.

Unit stats
I beleive only the Redeemer is left in flux.
That's the big one, imho.
I can go with the combined-flamer 30cm attack. It would help the force overall a bit on range for it to have 30cm attacks instead of multiple at 15cm. However, like I said, there are benefits to the 15cm range for fire/FF support combos as well.
I think this choice really needs to be more along the lines of distinguishing between the Crusader and Redeemer in some meaningful way. Personally, I favor a good FF with good short range fire options over a FF-oriented assault tank, for all the reasons you cited.
