White Scars oddities

I always thought these were weird, as they're in the SM list but not WS:

no Vindicators upgrade on the Assault Detachment
no Hunter, Land Raiders or Vindicators upgrades on the Tactical Detachment
no Vindicator formation

and because the Land Raider and Terminator formation were sort of merged:
no Hunter or Vindicators upgrades (like on the SM Land Raider Detachment) on the Terminator Detachment

You can add Vindicators to Whirlwinds though...

If you're not going to put restrictions on SM lists they can all be proxied by the codex list.

Just different colours.

But what if I want 8 unit walking bike formations? I have to give up Devs, Dreads, teleporting Terminators and all the weird upgrade stuff I mentioned above?

The first three seem thematic, the rest just strange or like C&P errors when it was put together for Fanatic.

Yes, you have to give up a lot for something. It's an issue with way too many non codex lists when they add and don't cut IMO.

To me this list will never be played. It is not balanced, trading away a lot of SM:s best units for a big bike unit with walker just sounds wierd. I had similar thoughts as Dave when I read this list the first time and now this list just takes up space in the compendium...
