Rug informs me the idea amoungst some tounry players is to make the vindies move 15cm and walker. Anyone tried it? |

15cm? Is that a typo, or is the idea to allow garrison? SMs don't garrison very frequently and if they do it's usually stuff with 45cm range, like Devs with Dreads, so a 15cm Vindicator is not a great fit there. They obviously wouldn't work with mech infantry or armor units. That basically leaves them to garrison as a Vindi formation or as air-assault via LC. That's probably useful but pretty restricted and not really in character with the close support role it's supposed to have. |

They are trying to get abilities to match the 300 points - prefering to do that than alter points values for tourny planners. The intention I guess is for a tooled up infantry formation with dreadnaughts, vindies and a hunter. |

But in retrospect thats a little odd as an interntion. If the idea is for people to turn up with the right points, tellingthem that actually their models now perform completely differently to what they intended is somewhat worse! |

Unless they now perform *better*... *laugh* I *don't* think Vindicators need any of their stats *reduced* to "improve" them! |

Does seem odd. It give's it a slight boost in allowing garrisoning but takes away any advantage gained with it's slow operational speed. To me it would roughly still be around the same value(if not slightly weaker) as it is before any changes were made. |

Can't say I've heard that option discussed at any tournaments this year, but maybe I don't listen hard enough ![]() |

Quote: (Hena @ 21 Nov. 2008, 17:32 ) I would suggest trying some of these 1) Add Walker 2) FF3+ 3) Save 3+ (due to heavier front and top armour) It would be interesting to see someone else trying these as well. Together, or individually? |

Drop to 50pts each (200pts for a formation), and possibly add Walker. Fixed. |

On a speed 25 model I would prefer 3+ armour, would be used the most. |

50 points is the most sensible option to me, it's simply not worth any more, even with things like walker (which to be honest is worth maybe 5 points at most). |
