As it seems likley that I will be playing Epic Armageddon if I ever play again, I started to look at what models I have, and was wondering how useful they would be for the Armageddon game. I came up with the following list: Assault det. 175 Terminator det. 325 Land speeders 200 Land speeders 200 Bikes 200 Tac det w commander 350 Tac det w supreme commander + 2 dreadnoughts 500 Devastator det w 2 dreadnoughts 350 Land raiders 400 Land raiders 400 Warhound 250 3 Thunderhawks 600 Total 3950 pts Im thinking thunderhawks will carry assault marines, terminators and one tac det, and the rest go in rhinos. But I could of course teleport the terminators and take all the infantry in thunderhawks, but then Id have to lose the dreads - my favourite miniaturess! Anyway, would this be a list worth using, or would I have to invest in some new models, like antiarcraft (hunters)? |

I'd also consider running one empty thunderhawk if you teleport the terminators. Its a good gunship against infantry and light vehicles, and can place that important blast marker from 75cm away when you need to prep an assault. Also it can land and embark a formation ready for an air assault next turn. |

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think adding some hunters is a fairly cheap and easy way to make the army better, and those models wont stand out as too different if painted in the same style as the other stuff I guess. Youre probably right also, the land raiders dont seem all that popular any more so Ill probably drop some of them and add another warhound, or maybe even drop all of them and add another warhound AND a Reaver - that seems to get me a lot more power for my dollars, especially as the current rules seem to make land raiders, and most of the SM arsenal, quite ineffective against enemy titans. For an old epic player it seems odd to not have any land raiders in a marine army though... Taking dreads in the T-hawk also seems strange, but that would probably increase their effectivness (in 2ed they were actually pretty useless because they were so slow and too poorly armoured). |

Right... I counted 1150 [edit: think its 1200... =30%] points titans out of 4000 pts total (sorry about the mistake in the topic title), 28 % or so. Do the T-hawks count as navy aircraft (i e allies)? I read an old discussion on these boards dealing w SM tactics against titans (very instructive!), and I must say I prefer the fight-titans-with-titans-tactic! And thanks for those updates, I had actually managed to miss them completely! |

For marines the 1/3rd are Titans and Navy aircraft (Marauders and Thunderbolts). Even the spacecraft are in the main list but I could be wrong and they may fall in the 1/3rd limit. Can anyone confirm this? |

Only aircraft and Titans are limited. |
