If you had the power to change what was done with marine armour would you change it to RA instead of the points drop? So 4+ saves become 5+RA and maybe 5+ saves 6+RA? |

I would like to see them with 5+ RA. Failing that, a slightly more thoughtful points nudge (Drop all land formations by at least 25pts, and put Thunderhawks and Spacecraft up by 50pts) |

Points drop is enough. Leave RA to Terminators and Dreadnoughts. |

We need to get everyone to stop the "arms race" for more power etc, otherwise you lose the differences between the various units - so definitely no RA on "standard" units. Also, bear in mind that in doing this on the Space Marines, the Chaos people would immediately adopt the same for their troops - nudging them towards being overpowered again. |

Note I reckon points decrease (and RA for dreds). |

My main reasoning for RA would be the fact that I dont feel the marine army captures the marine background at all. They are way too fragile. Id probably argue for RA on the marine infantry as well. But I admit I'm extreme! |

I think rhinos are okay, but predators should have 5+RA. I've always thought this ever since I picked up the rulebook way back when. The discrepancy between Leman Russ and predators is too big - the difference of 1 point of armour in 40K translates to a massive difference in Epic. Mind you, I think this discrepancy might also be caused by the Leman Russ being too tough. They're extraordinarily hard to kill, disproportionally so in my opinion. If they were 5+RA, I wouldn't have so much issue with predators only being 4+. |

Part of the problem here is the idea the RA re-rolls the same stats. The result is the Russ is too strong at 4+, while it is inappropriate that both vehicles should be 5+. If we adopted variable RA, you could set the Predator at 4+/6+, or 4+/5+ giving the desired additional protection while retaining a distinction between the two vehicles. |

No more RA, thank you. Should be reserved to very special units. |

A Dreadnought IS a very special unit ![]() |

I understand, but would suggest that it is not quite as special as a Terminator with this special armour, and could not have MBT level armour which would be too cumbersome - hence I thought we had the generally accepted view that they are slightly better than Marines and go to 3+. As for variable RA, if adopted, we could actually tone down units as well, so perhaps getting a range of variations like this:- Rhino 5+ Predator 4+ / 6+ Leman Russ 4+ / 5+ Land Raider 4+ / 4+ |
