I translated the Apocalypse Datasheets for the Terminator Titanhammer Squad and the Predator Assassin Squadron for Epic. What do you think about it? Originals datasheets can be found here: http://us.games-workshop.com/games....ult.htm |

I think it is whacky. ![]() No, seriously it is pretty cool, but I think that the teleporting into somebody's ZoC is quite a change up of the existing rules. What was the justification for this? I'm curious since I haven't looked at the Apocolypse stuff at all. Also the re-roll for the assassin formation should specify that they get to re-roll once. FYI Another list used a dynamic where if a re-roll was used you had to re-roll all the dice thrown and take that new set of rolls regardless of whether it was better or worse. |

Cool that you like it ![]() Re Titanhammer Sqauds: Justification for the teleport into enemys ZoC was that the Titanhammer Sqauds are specially designed to...well hammer Titans ![]() So i thought teleporting into the ZoC of Titans (and only allowed at Titans) would fit and is fluffy. Because it is more dangerously the chance of receiving Blastmarkers for teleporting is increased. Easly i could change it to "receive two blastmarkers on a D6 roll of a 1 instead of only one Blastmakrer" Re Assassination Squadron: I guess you mean it should be re-roll misses once per game. I prefer re-rolmisses once per shooting. At last the re-roll misses is restricted to one specific formation and they can ONLY fire at this specific formation until it is totally destroyed. The Apocalypse rules say re-roll misses. But i think i like the re-roll all or nothing approach more. ![]() |

Some cool stuff there... I also quite like the Seer Council... seems to fit right in with the EPIC version! |

I think he means 'specify that you can't re-roll a re-roll' to prevent someone arguing 'I get to re-roll misses. So I re-roll all of them. Then re-roll all THOSE misses. And again. And again. Until every weapon hits!' since re-rolls are so rare in E:A I don't think they're covered in the core rules. On the titanhammers: I'm not entirely sure how useful being able to teleport into the ZoC is, really. Tis a neat mechanic, but not sure how good it'd be. Perhaps instead if they teleport within 15cm of a Titan they don't have a chance to receive blastmakers, as they all arrive very nearly on target? Teleporting into ZoC doesn't really do much except force the titan to either engage or move away from them (And really, what titan wants to stand there with 8 MW attacks, 4 regular attacks and a TK(D3) attack staring them in the face which all bypass void shields? XD) |

Maybe a delayed teleport function that allows them to designate the turn they are teleporting? But then deploy during the turn instead of at the beginning of it. That would give them the opportuntiy to select the best opportunity within the turn to go after a unit. THAT would be very powerful. |

You mean they teleport when they activate? |

While the rules details can be argued out, I have to say that I like these ideas. If you add enough of these for all of the different armies then I think that Epic could be greatly enhanced. [whisper] Just doen't tell anybody that these are adding special rules or making things more difficult, or people will scream these down. [/whisper] |

I agree, some slightly more expensive alternate loadout formations would be way neat. The exact rules for them might be a little more difficult to iron out, but would be way neat! You could collect 'em all into a book and release Epic: Apocalypse as an expansion to Epic: Armageddon, even! |

I think it'd be really neat as a set of (possibly) optional rules. I've always been a fan of having optional rules which add greater depth and/or style to a game but which aren't mandatory. But if we did these kinds of formations I'd almost certainly support a single book put together which has formations for all the armies rather then printing them individually for each army! |

I'm glad you like it ![]() ![]() My idea was to translate all the Apocalypse datasheets into Epic formations (if possible and not already present). This would give each army a couple of special formations which could be used in any variant armylist of a specific army. With opponents permission of course. @Titanhammer: I like the teleport when activating proposal. What do you think about the points cost of the two formations? To low? To high? |
