Modular Dreadnoughts; Why not?

What would be so overpowered about allowing a Lascannon / Power fist Dreadnought?

Or an Assault Cannon / Missile Launcher Dreadnought?

Just allow them to pick from a short list:

Pick one right arm weapon:
- Twin Lascannon
- Assault Cannon

Pick one left arm weapon:
- Power Fist
- Missile Launcher

It's pretty much the same size of a rule as the current 'pick a configuration' rule, but is also a minor buff for Dreadnoughts (As players can then configure them to suit whatever formation they're attached to).

Yay or Nae.

Then you could do the same to Predators, Leman Russ, Chimeras, Falcons, Serpents, INFANTRY, etc....

I don't know about you, but I'm debating, not arguing.

Abtraction versus representation is always going to be a subject of debate.

Note that I havn't even stated my feelings on this issue (My entire first post is in the form of questions, not opinions), yet you tell me (Or Tooninki?) to 'go play 40k' just for asking...

I played a game last night with a friend who was returning to E:A, and who was having difficulties just coming to grips with the Eldar list - I can just imagine his comments about this.

IMHO while this is possibly a nice option for house rules between friends, it seems to add much complexity for little or no gain.

Yeah too much detail - just having a divide between assault and shooting variants is enough I think E&C.

Ok for friendly games though - and you could add multi-melta for that purpose also.

Thanks.
