So who'll be the first to model it in Epic scale? :)

Looks like a Hurricane bolter from the LR Crusader - I guess it's one way to get more money from the same old parts...

Can't help thinking that for 40K it'd be less use than the good old Assault Cannon, though.

Regards,
Reaver

Carrying enough ammunition was never a question for GWs design team :D

It only has to fire... once!

You see they played Epic and discovered what a dred does (nothing, then maybe something, then occupy valuable packing box real estate).

Well the Siege Drill seems to be a "bit" oversized in comparison to the FW model. :D

Not really, it's going to be a plastic kit.

Well i'm very interested in the concepts of Vanguard Veterans (equipped with Jumpacks, Powerweapons and Combatshields) and Sternguard Veterans (equipped with Bolters with access to different ammunition types)

Vanguard Veterans == Assault Marine Veterans
Sternguard Veterans == Tactical Marine Veterans

Yes. :) Currently i think about which chapter would use which ones.
Vanguards certainly for Raven Guard. Imperial Fists would use Sternguards most i guess.

Representation in Epic would be easy:
Vanguard = Assaultmarines with +1EA in CC
Sternguard = Tacticals without Missile Launcher and FF3+ (perhabs with +1EA for FF too)

Either as Detachments of their own or as upgrades of 2 units to Assault or Tactical Detachments repsectively. But then i would recommend upgrading the units so that the formations size doesn't change.

I suspect that if you wanted to have Stern/Van-guard squads, then a replacement of existing units within formations would be the way to go about things.

So you'd add 'Sternguard' to the 'Upgrades' column on the Tactical Marine Formation army list entry.

And then you'd have the upgrade itself as something like: 'Replace one Tactical Marine Unit with a Sternguard Marine Unit' - 25pts.

Sternguard stats would then be something to reflect their superior abilities (FF3+, or whatever).

Does that drop pod transport 10 men then?
