The reason behind that is other GW models use those bolters and sometimes only 1 set.

What other model uses Hurricane Bolters?  I thought that was a Crusader "exclusive"?

I believe there's a new dreadnaught varient that can have them in 40k? I may be wrong.

I'm pretty sure that's the only other unit that can have them.

Tested out this list last night

Black Templar Crusade

2 Crusade Formation + 2 Neophytes per formation.
2 Sword Brethren, Terminator Formations, + Captain + chaplain + Emps champ
1 Sword Brethren formation + 2 Landraider Crusaders
1 Thunderhawk lander (2 thunderhawks to carry the Landraiders)
2 Thunderhawk gunships
1 thunderhawk Close air support.

Ok this is not a list that makes your friends, if I were to take this into a Tourney, I dont think I would make any friends at all.
I played a list with 12 super heavys (4 shadow swords, 8 baneblades), along with a Warlord Titan, and thunderbolts.  it didn't end well for the Guard.  of course he had 2 free turns to do what he wanted. I used that time to take down the thunderbolts, and look to try to supress a formation.....  never got close to that.

But I did take down the Warlord, with the termies, (he placed the warlord on top of the blitz objective.then I only rolled half the amount of attacks, oh well) he also did get to my blitz, in the end it went to a 4th turn. I won 3-2 on countback.

possibly could have done things differently, but I was a little pressed for activations to do the work.

over all the list worked well. the crusaders seemed a little underpowered, considering they didn't hit at all in FF. the T-hawk landers were about right, played with the FF5 value not FF4.  Added a good amount of firesupport and did average hits.  (got taken out on the imperials activation.)

This is the list that I am going to use at cancon as the bye army. dont think I will make any friends.  but it will be quick to play against.

That sounds like a list designed to lose 95% of its games.

The player in question is using this force for upcoming tourney in Melbourne.  The problem is that the last tournament he played in the top 4 players were all AMTL (07 lists) so he tells me make me a list that will kill titan lists.. (my version had more Shadowswords) but I did tell him I doubt that anybody will take an AMTL list.  (I was right there) but he said he wants to use the list cause it is simple.

You know the saying 'Never argue with an idiot, people can't tell you apart!' and the other one, 'Never argue with an idiot they drag you down to their, level and beat you with experience!'

well these two warnings went off and I stoped telling him that he is going to loose.
The biggest titan he is going to see at the event on saturday is his own.  I just had to laugh though, no matter how much you tell some people that it is not a good list, they still dont listen..

Was the AMTL list the ERC one?

Obviously I'd be interested in hearing feedback on it if it was the AMTL list that the ERC asked me to develop... if it's dominating in a tournament environment that's not good!

It was over two years ago, I can't remember what the lists were like, nor can I find them..

That's before I was appointed to develop the Mechanicus lists, so it would have been under the V2 series... so I'm not surprised they dominated things.
