Always in artificer armour actually.

In Epic his artificer armour is represented by his invulnerable save.

he has the Armour of faith which is artificer armour (so 2+) and it also gives him a 4+ invulnerable save.

so it is power armour but the best armour a marine can have.

Why? At least he has no First Strike too :D
And the EC has to survive all regular attacks bevor he can even think about applying his Sniper-MW-Attack.
If i look at the Chaplain survive rate this wouldn't happen very often.

I'm with Hena here, MW & Sniper together is a bit silly.


I think Sniper fits well, and perhaps First Strike too as he's such a rare character.

yes i think it's very good attack but isn't that what the EC is? a Space Marine with visions of the Emperor fulling his head running around trying to hit enemy characters with this super cool sword the the chaplians have given him?

the combnation of the two is powerful but the best way to find out is playtesting, and it's not hard for to test the EC at 75 with MW and 50 without it.

After thinking it over for a day or so you guy are right i don't think i'm going to give the EC MW sniper it's to powerful and i'm don't want to set the precedent of that combonation.

So sniper and inspiring but first strike?

would 50 points be to cheap for sniper, first strike and inspiring?

played two games tonight and i throught i'd post my army list
Black Templar 3000 Point Army List

Crusaders (300)
? ? Marshal (100), Emperor?s Champion (50), 6 Neophytes (150), 2 Razorbacks (50), 1 Hunter (75) Total: 725

Crusaders (300)
? ? Chaplain (50), Neophyte (25), Razorback (25), Hunter (75) Total: 475

Thunderhawk Transporters (250) Total: 250

the first game was against nids but due to time (we started late) we had to declare a draw at the end of turn 2, i think it would have gone on to turn 4 but i'm not sure.

the second game was Vs JonLuke using the minervan list, i lost 2-0 but if i'd roll an 2+ with a reroll i'd have won 2-0 but ho-hum, both were fun games i like the way the list has shape up.
more games tomorrow i'll try to do a battle report.

This is the list components I can remember from last night that just managed to  halt the Black Templars victory:

Super Heavy Tank Company (3xStormhammer)
with Tank Squadron, Hydra and a Supreme Commander.

Warhound Scout Titan

Stormtroopers with Valkyrie Transport

Mechanized Platoon

Mechanized Platoon

Artillery Platoon (3xManticore)

Leman Russ Company plus Hydra

I think that was the list.

I think I miscalculatedand cheated. I put a second hydra in the stormhammers as well - v sorry Pulsar. It didn't do much though, made your planes a little more frightened but none of the hydras racked a kill.

PS - Stormhammer companies ROCK! Everyone who uses minervans should give them a go.

Are they too quick @ 15cm movement?

It was something I was always concerned about when I was running the list.

don't worry i'd have not gone up against that formation anyway! it's flithy! but against my eldar it would have been toast!

meh space marines are hard to use but for my dice i would have kicked your ass! :D  :laugh:

Is it intended that you can have a fast attack formation of 13 units?  5 bikes, 5 neophyte bikes and 3 speeders.  It's not even all that expensive.

I wondered if it fit stylistically.

I think that the units of 10 bikes for 350 is fine, add a chaplain and it's a nice round 400 points, and I don't think it does fit, Black formations aren?t meant to be set sizes, in the fluff there just a group of space marines who fight well together, BT don't have ridged units sizes (but for the sake of balance using the normal formation sizes is easier),

if I left it so you could still add land speeder to the formation it would take the total to 505 points and with the way the list is shaped (i.e. you have to spend at least 900 points on Crusaders) I don't think many people would take them,

But the one defining factor is mixing land speeders with bikes in one formation sound a bit ravenwing to me and BT are a completely different kind of skirt wearing pansies to those skirt wearing pansies!  :p
