Ahh sorry I meant Dreads in general. Can't see why Vulcans cost 75 in the first place really. Possibly because of the Frenzied rule but I see that as a slight drawback.

Also, how do people feel about the inclusion of the Stormtalons in place of the Thunderbolts/Marauders?

SM armies are vulnerable from the air -expensive, lone Hunters are not much against air assault heavy forces (like Eldar Iyanden, etc) -so they need some "cheap" CAP fighters..

I think perhaps 275 is fairer for the stand alone formation and 125/250 for the upgrades

So you don't see an auto-CAP (1+ initiative) & better armoured formation as a decent option, as opposed to a 2+ initiative one?

I Think 250 for the stand alone is OK (BA don't have stand alone armor! no stand alone LR!), and the 1-3 Heavy upgrade for 65p each is also fair (the much stronger Redeemer is 75!)

Stormtaln is nice, but shouldn't we leave something special for the other chapters also? :)

Just a note from IH testing land but the brain trust is starting to feel that the Storm Talon needs a little ummph (just a weeeee bit). If it does go in here, then I'd suggest holding off adding it for a bit as to make any findings we bring forth before the Dobbsy and the synod to render judgment have the least ripple effect across lists. ;)

tl;dr
The AA bubble is too small where the increased armor isn't enough to prevent them getting shot up in practice. With TBolts you can sit out 30cm which is more important.

Well the Baal Pred formation is currently 300 so 275 for the extra speed compared with codex 250 is fair.

I think I prefer to lock the price in for 2 at 125 (62.5 ea) rather than min-max 1-3 at 65 ea. It's neater.

Ok on the ST vs Thunderbolt question Jimmy. Wil lleave the air section alone.

I see your point with the 2/125!
My point is still the lack of flexibility: 1-3 is more flexible, than the fix 2.. :)

A LR formation is something I would like a lot.


BA Devestator formation and Land Raider Redeemers is a winning combination I feel. Like all Marine formations though they need to work in tandem supported Assaults to get the most firepower bang for your buck.

This is true, however you can't have your cake and eat it too ;) Do you want cheaper tanks or more flexibility? :) 50 points is way too low and I don't like odd points costs or min-maxing. In general, I prefer to balance up a positive with a negative.

Maybe there's some misunderstanding :)

1-3 Predators for 65p EACH -sorry, this was my point. Same price, just not fix 2, but 1-3! :)
