But by the same token, singlton Ferals provide the same boosts to the Chaos armies.

Making them an upgrade to the other titans (or even an upgrade to a pair of Deathwheels etc) would make more sense wouldn't it?

This presents the principle of scout titans acting as scouts to titan forces that have been attached to the army, rather than constantly having a horde of singleton scout titans that unbalance the game in so many ways.

Here is another stat for your consideration.

So far this year in the UK out of 37 Marine lists that can take Warhounds 21 did. 56%
And of the 17 Guard lists that can take Warhounds 11 did. 64%.

Got to love stats!

There is one fact that will tend to overshadow balance considerations : This is a toy soldiers game.

By which I mean, if presented with two equally balanced options, people may well tend to pick the option that involves using giant battle robots, instead of puny tanks.

So those stats, despite showing a notable trend of most lists using Warhound Titans, may well be influenced by that "I want the cool stuff!" factor beyond just simple "I want to win!" considerations...

...oh no wait, I'm talking about EpicUK here, of course they're only hard-nosed sods who only care about the win, lol. ::) ;D :D

Can you run the numbers on how many of each that did and did not take Hounds were in the top three for that tourney? I am aware some of the sample sizes are small enough to have little or no statistical significance.

*edit*

Puny tanks?!?

Buh... buh... buh...

It is definitely a factor for me.

I like Titans, and if given the opportunity of using a few in an army list, I will, regardless of utility.

Yes, and (at least IMHO) there hasn't been a bad Warhound model either. They all look cool!

I love the stats too :)

How about comparing the stats of the lists that came in the top 50% with those that came in the bottom 50%?

EDIT
got to type faster - and pity those not online when they find the extra 'n' pages tonight :)

Also, I want to see the same stat analysis for CSM armies with their Warhound analogues, pronto! Snip snip!

I've ran the marine numbers and if you didn't take warhounds you didn't break the top half. However none of the regular top 8 sitters ran marines without warhounds so that will skew the stat's a little. At least 3 of the Marine lists had a Warlord in them, and that's universally know to not really help a Marine list!

I'll dig a little deeper and look at match ups. Marines with v Marines without I'm going to predict will result in a win for the with camp in most games.
